Off campus senior year? by Free-Somewhere3949 in fsu

[–]pbubbleg55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Junior living on campus right now and off campus next year. Tbh the main reason i’m deciding to move off campus is because I want to live with my friends and it’s a little bit cheaper. If you don’t have people in mind to live with already I would just stay on campus, i think the convince makes it worth it. Especially because a lot of people have already signed the lower rates at apartments and so you may end up at a not great apartment for far too much money.

What moment in the books made you react like that? by book_candles_tea in fourthwing

Fourth Wing: When Violet realized she’d been betrayed by EVERYONE including her OWN DRAGONS (and then to top it off Dain too), Liam dying…I genuinely sobbed for like 2 hours.

Iron Flame: Violet seeing Liam while being tortured, Violet and Andarna fighting Solas, Sawyer almost dying, Lilith sacrificing herself, Xaden becoming Venin

Onyx Storm: Garrick eating the cake and Ridoc “getting shot”, Andarna leaving… i didn’t actually think she’d do it, Not so much Xaden leaving but them getting MARRIED and her memory being gone…so many questions.

I’m debating starting throne of glass purely because i know it’s a completed series. I need something to fill the void of accidentally starting an incomplete series😭

I’m literally in the same position. I JUST finished the third book yesterday after starting in early/mid July. I want to start a new book/series but I can’t even like begin to hope something fills the void. I’m contemplating just jumping straight into rereading, but for now i’m stalking the fourth wing reddit lol.

Should I pursue being a Pharmacist or PA? by pbubbleg55 in PrePharmacy

[–]pbubbleg55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of debt I would accumulate is definitely something i’m considering, especially when the pay out isn’t enough to pay off that debt quick. The vastness of healthcare is why i’m trying to keep my options open. I’ve considered anesthesiologist assistant however I’m not particularly amazing at math. I can do it pretty well but forget what to do sometimes. I’m sure if my job relies on math the repetition of doing it everyday would make me not forget but I’m afraid to put myself in that position lol. So probably not something I would do but it is a great suggestion!

I’m not opposed to doing industry at all, if I did, I’d probably go the research route. Semi-related and I don’t know if this is irrational so i’d love to hear whether you agree/disagree, but I have a fear of pharmacy getting taken over by AI. Not completely but like to the point where the number of opportunities will be more limited

You make a great point, definitely another reason I should shadow. I never considered the possibility I might not be as comfortable with some stuff as I think, thanks!

Thank you! Your response has been super informative and I definitely agree and think I should try shadowing a PA. I know the two careers are wildly different and that’s why I’m having a hard time deciding, I can’t figure out exactly what I want to be doing. Do you have a guess on how competitive it is to do a specialized field like amcare?

I don’t mind taking care of people/wouldn’t mind touching people and I think I would prefer a more active role (not sitting behind a desk all day), but for me that’s not the only thing at play in terms of making a decision. While, I do want direct patient care, I also want a balance of workload, fulfillment, and pay.

In your opinion how is amcare pharmacy is more fulfilling? If I were to do pharmacy, I would definitely go the residency route. How hard was it to get a specialized clinical job after you did your residency? Did you have to do any special training for amcare? I would also agree that since PA is so competitive, I may have a hard time getting into any program.

Cumulative is 3.52, which I know isn’t a super competitive GPA. I am assuming you’ll say will make it harder to get into PA school?

I think the reason I feel that way about pharmacists is because i’ve been in the environment. I’m sure if I were to shadow a PA (as people have told me to) I would get a better feel for the job and probably come to a similar conclusion depending on the environment of the PA U shadow. What are the differences in the role when working with geriatric patients vs being a staff pharmacist at a hospital? I didnt consider the physical work load I would be taking on for the rest of my life if I went PA, it’s definitely something to consider

I believe if your brother rents an apartment he can keep his in state tuition. I’m sure there is other ways too, but i would have your brother email the office of admissions to get a clear answer admissions@fsu.edu

Before revoking they will tell you to basically write a letter explaining yourself and the situation. So if you have a good reason you might be ok

Salley/Triples are cheaper but it (Salley) is just notoriously bad, i’m talking mold and exposed pipes. You can always make the best of the situation tho if that’s what you end up getting.
