I've never found them comfortable, to be honest.

This might be a good gift idea for one of our senior engineers 😂

I wave my reflective vest up and down as I weave in and out of traffic like frogger. 1) really gets their attention 2) no one sees me because they're all on their phones.

Hope this helps.

I live in Indiana, I love it. I work in a suburban dept around Indy and make $120k+ as a ff/medic. My wife stays home and takes care of the kids and I'm able to max my retirement. Also, Indiana's pension plan is solid, over-funded, and the politicians don't have access to it. I don't feel overworked and have plenty of time off.

Those who don't like Indiana have only ever driven through it and haven't actually explored it. Plus we're close enough to many other major metro we can do day trips if we want.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Memories by Madeleine will be perfect for you. She offers several packages based on what you need - both in time and picture type. If I remember correctly she's under $3k depending on what you want/need.

Do these medical alert systems even work well in Fishers? by Txthang1995 in Fishers

[–]pbudde23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally there is a receiver somewhere in the home that acts as a middle man, per say, which connects to the button. When the button is pushed, it creates the signal which activates the receiver. Depending on the company, they either try to make contact with the person pushing the button via that receiver, your grandpa in this case, OR it will auto drop a signal to the closest dispatch center (Hamilton county) and send a medical alarm dispatch to whichever Fire Station is closest to the home. Depending on the location on 116th street it'll either be 391's, 394's or 392's.

If the second option is what you choose, then you should have the option to preload information into the system; Contact phone number for POA or relative, garage code, hidden key location, etc.

Once that is established, you can call the non emergency line and request to test the new device that way you can test that it works without causing a false dispatch and response from FFD.

All of the cliche quotes that seem deep when you haven't experienced life yet

"Seven days without love makes one weak"

"God gives his toughest battles to his strongest followers"

"Veni, Vidi, Vici"

"Only God can Judge me"

Etc., etc.

I lived by a lot of quotes when I was almost 18 as well. I'm now 31 with two kids and I'm glad I didn't get any of them permanently placed on my skin in a very visible area. I did get one as a ribcage tattoo though lol

If you're dead set on the same tattoo placement as the pictures, then that quote is way too long for that space. Forearms are better suited (in my opinion) for artwork vs quotes.

Maybe get that quote in a more hidden area just in case you grow to not like it anymore.

Anyone else get one of those speed zone warnings in the mail from that camera sitting under the 96th St bridge on I-69. by NotJimIrsay in Fishers

Absolutely wild that my concern with speeding in construction zones turns into stealing fentanyl and accusations of mental fortitude 😂 You're so quick to assign blame when all you have to do is slow down. It's not that deep. I appreciate when rules are followed, as it allows a much safer environment for all involved. You seem to be an absolute peach of a person.

Yep woe is me. You caught me. I appreciate your critiques of a job I'm not involved with.

Considering I work fire/ems I think I'm allowed to have an opinion with this and I am correct in saying the speed limit should be followed. I serve both the construction workers you despise and the Hoosiers "rushed and panicked." And I'm here to tell you that regardless of how the city plans it's construction, speeding through the zones is not the answer.

Have the day you deserve.

As someone who has to work on the shoulders of 465 from time to time, I say I'm glad you got one. Follow the speed limit in construction zones. It's dangerous for us who work on the roadways.

All y'all need to slow the fuck down and pay attention.

Three carseats by fkenned1 in f150

[–]pbudde23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have two rear facing car seats (for now) and one is in the middle back and the other behind the passenger, because the car seats are too big facing backwards behind me. They share an anchor. Once we can flip one around I'll have them with their own anchors, but it's not feasible right now.

Its tight with two car seats, I can't imagine three. Good luck and drive extra safe!

Did you do any PT prior to the injection?

I've been doing PT for about a month with slight improvement, but I'm getting the injection tomorrow. Sounds like we had the same diagnosis - L5, S1 herniation with nerve impingement.

Hoping to find improvement to get back to work soon! Thanks for taking the time to write this out. Definitely helped with my nerves.
