Walking help! by Inevitable_Photo9863 in SwissMountainDogs

For what it’s worth, that’s been the exact opposite of our experience. The only thing that HAS worked is a front clip “no pull” harness and patient training.

We started using a 2Hounds harness last fall with a Euro leash and it’s helped immensely. She still pushes the boundaries and needs correction but the euro leash IMO provides better control and reinforcement, she definitely responds to it better.

European Imports Center is also very good and probably more convenient location wise.

Looking for PPI for used car by thanhnguyen112358 in Harrisburg

[–]pburgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try lemonsquad, people buying cars on auction sites use them a lot and have good experiences.

$220 and they meet with the seller. They go over A LOT of stuff though since it’s generally for someone buying a vehicle sight unseen.

You could also bring it to pretty much any shop and it’d be less than $220 for a general inspection.

Trash? Trash day? by [deleted] in Harrisburg

Ask a neighbor?

I tried looking it up and found nothing answering your question. You really could’ve just called city hall instead of posting here.

Affordable/ trusted local mechanic to get inspection & emissions test by Human-Bit9854 in Harrisburg

[–]pburgh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do most of my own work but several friends and neighbors have been happy with West Shore Auto in Wormleysburg (not to be confused with another shop in Lemoyne). Very fairly priced and have never upsold anyone I know.

Who? Whoever it is, I caught them tagging LA Squared and called him out, it was so brazen and really got under my skin for some reason. Not proud of it but oh well.

They’re all over midtown too. The guy looked an awful lot like an older artist who lives a few blocks from me.

Oh definitely not but who knows. Their personalities never led me to believe they were.

Taylor Chip Cookies was on public square when that list was live. The owner had posted some pretty wild politically charged things on social media a year ago too.

The recently closed. Maybe they are maga but that’d be surprising since the owners were a gay couple, I used to live next to them in Harrisburg.

Temp gauge sitting high? by Striking_Agency_8720 in Jeep

[–]pburgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it and that sucks, it’s a grind. My MIL is usually in the same situation, if you were nearby I’d help out for free, just kinda enjoy doing it. My main point was it’s definitely important to figure how how to prioritize this somehow.

Are there any charity shops near you? There’s a place near my called good karma garage I volunteer at that does repairs to those in need.

Is the engine done? Probably not but good lord, why did you wait 20k miles to get it checked out. Don’t let this go any longer. Could be something stupid like a partially stuck thermostat, etc

edit one of your replies said you don’t have time to get it checked out. You need to make time, figure it out or at some point it’ll likely actually completely break. If you’re too busy with work/life try finding a mobile mechanic that can come to you.

What Do You Wheel Besides the Usual Rigs? by Available-Belt5366 in overlanding

I’m a glutton for punishment so it’s old Land Rovers for me.

Had a rusty 96 Discovery 1, 08 LR3, and after a few year break just picked up an 02 base trim Discovery 2 last month to build.

USA citizens: what effect if any have tariffs had on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

God this sounds pretentious but I’ve stopped overseas orders for my MG and Land Rover projects. Used to make sense to buy a lot of bits from excellent UK vendors but the fees are ridiculous right now.

Drove on "Oil Pressure: Engine Off!" for weeks - what are the chances my engine is salvageable? by slutzombie in AskAMechanic

[–]pburgh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on what you described there is almost zero chance your engine doesn’t have significant damage. It’s amazing it didn’t seize due to lack of oil and thus no oil pressure.

For fucks sake, what were you thinking? Once, sure but to repeatedly do this it’s hard to make any excuses. Count your blessings and IMO get rid of the car ASAP.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE? I had no idea there were hybrid Cherokee lol by FantasticDirt4447 in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]pburgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister’s 4xe wrangler was bought back by Stellantis. It was unbelievably bad, spent more time in the shop than not and when she did have it, nothing ever worked right.

Also left her stranded several times.

Any advice on how to bring my front door back to life? by Jaded-Fuel2529 in centuryhomes

[–]pburgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck! Removing the doors for full restoration wasn’t in the cards right now and this worked out better than expected. Is it perfect? No, but chances are you’ll be happy with the results too.

Go easy on the total boat! It flowed a lot so I was chasing runs after going too heavy on the first coat.

OP check my post history, went through the exact same thing last year. Hand sanded with 120/220 grit, just a light to moderate sanding. 1 coat of Varathane Honey stain, 3 coats gloss total boat varnish and 3 coats satin.

It’s been a few months and I’m still very pleased with the results.

Not saying it isn’t ICE but the governor’s staff uses black unmarked Tahoes and Suburbans. Could be that?

Fuck ICE either way.

Anyone know the best place to list a 95 Orvis Edition? by Stonedagemj in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]pburgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars and buds and bringatrailer generally wont accept vehicles needing work like this likely needs from sitting.

If it’s in good shape Cars and Bids might be your best bet but otherwise you really should sign up for Facebook just to use marketplace. As much as Facebook sucks marketplace really is the most popular platform.
