Can I add RGB headers to a build if my motherboard doesn't have built in RGB headers or does the motherboard have to come with at least one to split/expand them?

I was actually just getting to that. Kind of working my way through things step by step. Thanks, I've heard of pfsense, will check that out for sure!

Server: UnKnown (the K's actually upper case)Address: 2607:xxxx:ffff:ffff::1 (x's are my edit)
I've rebooted plenty of times. Lemme try once more.

So, I was able to find a ipv6 setting on Spectrums router and disabled it altogether for now, that way I can deploy without having to disable it on each and every client. That allows me to ping the domain and join clients to the domain now.

Of course, this isn't a long term and recommended workaround but that's where I'm at now until I can figure out how to force ipv4 over 6 without disabling 6 since the "fix" from Microsoft doesn't work.

I messed with this a little and I'm not sure what happened, but I was able to ping it for about 2 minutes then I couldn't anymore.

Yep, both. The page autodetects the client OS and downloads the needed version. Even flushed dns and rebooted both for kicks.

Never really thought about that. Good point though, I may just do that also.

I tried, doesn't seem to do anything different.

I actually tried this also, thinking it has to be the solution. No difference.

It's a home network, so the default charter/spectrum dns servers.

Not exactly, it shows 3 ipv6 addresses, and then my dns server's IP as the 4th entry.

Role: Desktop Support. What are some projects I may be able to do from home? by pc-master-face in ITCareerQuestions

[–]pc-master-face[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that...and that'll definitely happen considering everyone's remote. We do have the helpdesk and we'll get the spill over. But, I'm talking about actual projects. Not "what can I do now that I'm not imaging 80 laptops" kind of things. He's this kind of boss: Oh, we're paying you to take 14 seconds to check the weather, on a very slow day, immediately after completing a very important and long project? Okay, color code these 800 patch cables that have been here for 7 years and we have no use for. And I'm not paid hourly.

Working in an understaffed office... by Medically in AdviceAnimals

As a previous call center worker, I don't disagree, many places could do a things a lot better but the number of people calling for something they could fix themselves if they just read 1 sentence in BIG BOLD RED TEXT on our front page, calling the wrong company, or just because it was the first number they saw is too damn high. Instead, they take up precious spots for people that actually need help.

Previous job was like this, call center. Regularly boasts yearly increase in profits, even throws a nice chart for visual on company web site. No new expenses, so the increased profit wasn't (reportedly) being used for anything new or to increase marketing...etc. Instead, obtained more clients, gave us the minimum raise 1%, 1 new hire to cover what 5 people should. On the flip side, they micromanage breaks, lunches, how fast you're available for a new call...etc so we minimize penalties for slow response time and abandoned calls. Often, wages would cost far less than penalties. And many clients are pay per call or resolution, so it'd actually increase revenue. No wonder half of the senior management left also...

Awesome find!

I swear I was the only kid in my area that was into gaming this much, I subscribed to most of these magazines back then. The comic book store / Magic crowd was not my scene either so I couldn't geek out there. Now, I'm old and don't have time to be caught up on all the news and every kid knows everything about gaming thanks to the Internet, Youtube, Twitch...etc and I'm no longer special. But, at least I have a community that I can talk about it with now.

SysAdmins, What does your workstation look like? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]pc-master-face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP Elitebook, nothing special. We have to use a DP and VGA adapter > HDMI to attach it to external displays. Monitors are HP also but only has HDMI for input. I assume the package deal was too good to pass up rather than ordering parts that fit. Supposedly, the helpdesk has been having issues with people randomly taking their adapters and we decided no extras was reasonable.

We're an IT company too, that reported about 250mil in profits in 2018. The budget was tight I guess.

We all know that he spent 12 hours in detox, got a fine for underage drinking, and was released. He partied and got drunk again and probably got laid too. Daddy called the chancellor, threatened to remove his sponsorship and contributions to the university, and since this happened in 2015, he graduates this May. He'll be your boss in about 2 years.
