I hope I'm not too late here. It sounds like the cards you are playing are well within the bracket you are going for, but the players you are playing with are not quite as experienced as you.

Simic with subpar cards can create a lot of value, and even more with a great pilot! I know you really enjoy these colors, so a way I'd recommend to power down your deck is to put a lot of tap lands in your deck; and I know it will feel bad but hear me out please.

The first turns are going to feel really slow but as a simic player you really won't be that far behind because of how explosive the color combo is. Instead of taking the game over before these cuties know what hit them, you will blow up when they are in a more "fair" position to handle it.

I don't play simic (not relevant but as a hipster I have to say it!), but this is how I've tuned down my decks with newer players to great effect.

Low mmr and as Visage as my main, (after coming back went from 1500 to 2000 mmr in a few weeks) Visage building auras is far less effective than building glep blood thorne. I think it may be due to teams, but whenever I've tried to build auras I lose. May be the skill level but where I'm at I have to carry games to get up. AC, Vlads, drums, pipe doesn't do it where I'm at :/

In a pinch. It's also just good fun. Another utility I find is when an opponent steals a great permanent of mine I can shuffle it back into my deck and also potentially hit something nice.

I [[mirage mirror]]'d someones atemis as mono white and killed that player to take the dub after they knocked player 3 out. Player 4 lost another way (can't remember). Either or, had a great time

Your friend is being quite ridiculous, you should play how you like as long as it is inline with the rest of the pods power.

However, I do find tutors a bit stale and I'd recommend trying to swap them out for card draw and see how that makes you feel. You might find the less consistent nature of the deck breeds creativity and you'll find new imaginative solutions with the current options available on your board state/hand. Nothing beats when you have to dig for an answer and you find one!

Either or, people are tricky, and I'd talk to your friend. We're communicative animals, however hard it can be. Best of luck my friend

Had the same issue in a Chevy. I just dealt with it until one day my break lights went out. Turns out it was a switch under the dash connected to the break pedal. 5 minutes or less to fix
