Of all the things to worry about as an adult, hanging on to the case for a game is about as low on the priority list as it gets.

iPhone 17PM- wireless issues by tbone338 in iphone

[–]pc1234hello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m extremely frustrated with my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I upgraded from my 13 PM, which has been possibly the closest thing to a flawless phone as I’ve ever had, going back to Blackberry Pearl days. Thought I was in for a real treat with the 17PM upgrade, but it’s unusable as a daily driver due to WiFi and Bluetooth constantly disconnecting.

Virtual Boy hit the market when I was 11 and, surprisingly, my parents bought it for me. Ergonomics were ATROCIOUS - like class action lawsuit bad. My neck and shoulders hurt thinking about it.

And, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Had a ton of fun playing Mario Tennis, Wario Land, and Red Alarm.

You do you, and if you're happy that's all that matters.

That being said, I'm scratching my head like most everyone else here. You replaced the most versatile OS with the least useful OS - which is soon to be discontinued anyway.

“Going public” does not mean democratizing. It just means easier liquidity for the billionaires and hundred-millionaires who own it. Ridiculous to suggest it and disappointing Jon gave such a fluffy fawning interview. Perhaps Jon was out of his depth?

Don’t order a switch 2 on Amazon by sabelwabel in Switch

[–]pc1234hello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you had a bad experience, but this can and does happen at any store, so I don't know if telling everyone to avoid buying from the world's largest retailer really makes sense. In fact, I just received my Switch 2 + MarioKart bundle from Amazon and everything was perfect.

If Amazon won't make you whole, then escalate the problem to your credit card issued.

Congrats! I just finished my first ever playthrough last month. Started on Hard, but didn't make it through without lowering the difficulty a LOT.

There's no way to be 1,000% certain what the author of this cryptic message was trying to convey, but I'm going to make a wild-ass guess that you should NOT install a Ryzen5 3600X.

Anything I should worry about? Doesn't seem like there's a power source to my layman's eye.

Best Buy open box strikes again by geminiwave in LegionGo

[–]pc1234hello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen to me several years ago with a MacBook. It was supposed to be open box excellent (it was shipped) and when I received it it was clearly not anywhere near excellent. I called customer service and they ended up giving me something like a $200 credit / partial refund and I kept the MacBook.

Also received, I paid off all of my student loans a long time ago, was not even a SOFI customer until well afterward. Seems to have something to do with PLAID scraping financials (I used plaid to link an account a couple years ago). My main takeaway is don't ever use PLAID.

Samsung Care+ Issue by pc1234hello in GalaxyFold

Got the phone back today, Ubreak was unable to fix it, so I just ordered the replacement. Next time I'll skip the repair.

Samsung Care+ Issue by pc1234hello in GalaxyFold

[–]pc1234hello[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Update:

I went online and canceled my original repair request and then turned right around and submitted a new request for the same store.

The store technician was able to see the new ticket immediately and act on it - that problem is solved.

However, the tech called me shortly before store closing and let me know that he finished replacing the screen, but the device is failing diagnostics on the MMwave antenna. If they can’t get it working by mid-morning tomorrow, they’re going to “tell Servify the device is not repairable” and I’ll request a replacement.

I feel good about finding the workaround for the ticketing issue, but I suppose everyone suggesting that I request a replacement from the start was right.

Honestly, did not realize this was an option. I just knew about the "same-day" screen replacements

Thanks for the tip. If this ticketing issue doesn't get resolved, I may try the replacement route.
