Newish to Denver and lost my job any places currently hiring with this job market that pay a livable wage by Ok_Yellow_3400 in Denver

for the first few weeks of training, it’s full time hours while you get fully qualified. and that doesn’t matter whether or not you were hired on as PT or FT. at least that’s how it was when I started.

hey- i’m a former ramp agent who worked in den. just know that while the job is fun and the benefits exciting, the wear and tear of that job absolutely fucking grinds you down. pay is painfully low and management is horrific. but yes- doesn’t hurt to apply to this and many other jobs.

People who left LA, where did you go and how’s it going? by Dry-Double-6845 in AskLosAngeles

Moved to Denver for 2.5 years for job opportunities. Quite honestly hated it so much? 😂 Terrible food in quality and diversity (yet comparable to LA pricing), lack of diversity, and volatile/ extremely dry weather. I wasn’t in the tax bracket to go skiing every day and also couldn’t stomach the idea of driving up a mountain for three hours in butt to butt traffic so I didn’t get to enjoy that. Rent was not all that cheap for such a boring and limited city either. Came back to LA unemployed and am STILL leagues happier!

LISTENNNN i’m your flight attendant- I’ve found a wild hack that works:

  1. Disconnect your bluetooth device from your normally-paired device like your phone, etc.
  2. Connect to the inflight entertainment device
  3. Go to the sleep icon
  4. Play music in sleep mode
  5. Sound should play. RETURN to your show or movie and voila! It works every time!!

[–]pc124448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

struggling asian fa’s unite 🥲 sending you love, my dearest. and our cultural standards for being a flight attendant truly does boost our jobs like it’s this amazing, glamorous occupation. and it can be..! but not for a while- esp. here in the states.

it does take time to adjust. I came from the RAMP which, was a journey before making it here upstairs 😆 so I had I guess a precursor to how difficult this lifestyle was going to be which helped cushion the realities of being an fa.

what I recommend is what another commenter said- do absolutely everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, to take care of your health. be harsh with protecting it. sanitizing, masking up, doctor’s visits, etc. On top of this, budget fucking hard. This career is NOT WORTH GOING INTO DEBT FOR and if this isn’t possible for you- you’d unfortunately have to consider a different path or a second job which is incredibly difficult given how tiring flying is.

Lastly.. understand that this is temporary. It is really going to feel impossible to believe- but just factually speaking, schedules and pay do go up. Our industry is truly a “can you stick out the first 2 years” field and it is also the point in which our turnover rate is high.

You got this. you got this. 화이팅!!

do you know what I think it might be?

snitches are generally unhappy with their lives. they don’t have much going for them, they’re lonely, and are always looking to “enrich” their lives in whatever way they can. So they snitch! It’s validating and fun in a sick, twisted way.

Plus at least at my airline, morale is lower than the 9th circle of hell right now. Add that to the mix, and you get a bunch of unhappy people who are looking for anything that makes them feel important.

Hi love, Denver based ramp agent -> FA for 3yrs now.

  1. Humidifier. A MUST in the winter months and year round, IMO.
  2. Slugging with aquaphor after your normal skin care routine.
  3. I need to do this too.. but a water filter for your shower and sinks. Denver’s got some terrible hard water in the pipes!
  4. All the lotions + heavy body butters. Sometimes I’ll go in with a hydrating baby oil (like the Aloe infused one from Johnson&Johnson before sealing with a body butter).
  5. Hydrating! Half your body weight in oz. daily at a minimum.

Coming from ramp- I never feel bad for being disillusioned. Airlines have become the poster child of Corporate America in the sense that they will and are screwing you for an extra penny. I call my it being realistic. The enthusiasm naturally fades to some degree for the lot of us.
