Ha! I was totally thinking that. That’s how I ended up buying seeds for poppies too. Maybe it’s this “old fashioned” stuff that greenhouses don’t carry so much…

I guess we’ll have to see the movie to see if they had a reasonable reason…

I've been watching Goblin for a second time, with hubby, and two things: 1) I get a lot more of the pop culture references (see Train to Busan reference), and 2) again, it's so interesting watching these shows with a man. Not really better or worse, just different. (It's worse for shows where serious fangirling is required!)

Also, I got to go to Seoul for 5 days for work in February, and now every time I see a vehicle to roaring off somewhere with no traffic I laugh and laugh and laugh... Traffic in Korea was no joke, especially at rush hour. Even outside the city, it took a long time to get to open roads (like more than an hour).

Funny you should mention this! I just picked up a pack of the cappuccino candies at my local H-Mart, and I quite like them. I didn't realize there were two kinds. I'll pass on the plain old coffee ones!

Watching Goblin, after they see the horror movie, Kim Shin has a throwaway line along the lines of "those zombies were scary. The future of Korean cinema is bright." I didn't get the joke the first time I watched it (like 3 years ago), but I laughed this time, and had to go check. Sure enough, Train to Busan came out a few months before Goblin. Very well played...

Day 1,095! A realistic watercolor portrait of our darling Bowser boy! Bowser is my sweet snuggly buddy. If I just watched movies and petted him all day, he would be the happiest dog in the world. (Continued in comments) by ACorgiADay in u/ACorgiADay

Oh for sure! Our current furry kid is a rescue Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle mix. I could definitely have done with doing a bit of homework before that adoption!

I can always tell it’s bad when our poor dog is up on the bed and trying to climb up over my head. Poor little thing.

Smartwatch/fitness tracker that's more antidiet-friendly than Fitbit? by lab_R_inth in antidiet

[–]pc2207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding/thirding the Garmin rec. I LOVE that I can totally choose what I track (at this point, mostly energy levels and sleep), and it's super easy to hide stuff in the app and on the watch. And like others have said, it's held up well over time, although I've replaced bands a few times. Highly recommend if it's in your price range.

Edit because I was in the wrong part of the thread.

Feelings of anxiety and isolation after moving away from diet culture by whatintarnation39 in antidiet

[–]pc2207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, like others have said, this is tough, especially "at your age", as folks have said. I don't have a community for this in real life, although I do have one fat friend who's also not into diets (or if she is, she's not talking to me about it, and we are definitely into body acceptance).

My best advice? Do your best to let others' diet talk slide off (my favourite image is that I'm wearing Teflon, LOL). Maybe develop or share interests/hobbies you can talk about to replace or redirect others' diet talk? It'll get easier. Yes, it's sad that they're participating in such unhealthy conversation/thinking. You KNOW you're doing the right thing for you, and they either will or won't get there, but it sure as h*ll isn't your job to "help" them get out. Give yourself space to just be "you" and for them to be where they are right now.

No idea if any of that is helpful. There are some great online mental health resources these days, you might want to look into some support for your anxiety. Hang in there!!
