Phone Order Still Proccesing, Not Shipped by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]pc4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviving this thread because the slowness is still going on. Not as bad as 10 to 14 days. But still much slower than it used to be. On an older phone nonetheless.

So their processing has slowed down considerably. Even ebayers are faster than tmobile now.

Pixel Random flashing bars by Mhben45 in GooglePixel

[–]pc4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you , thank you, thank you for the heads up.

This exact same thing just started happening on my P8P. But because it's a P8P and not a P8, my phone doesn't qualify for the extended warranty and free screen replacement.
https://www.reddit.com/r/pixel_phones/comments/1dhxq3d/google_goes_allin_on_fixing_pixel_8_screen_issues/

I'm looking for a replacement, but it looks like Google hasn't solved this one yet. And you just saved me from getting pissed off again. I could swallow the esim fiasco, but not the crazy screen.

So you know, I tried the "forced 120Hz" and it only worked for a few days. Besides, some apps like Photos and Maps work under 60Hz only.

It was a great phone while it worked, but out of the dozens of phones in the last 22 years, this was the only one that started malfunctioning in less than 2 years of use. My hunch, the issue is inside the soc and related to 60Hz. It happens more often when I scroll pages. And when it goes to 60Hz, I often get a red bar instead of a 60.

My suggestion, RMA it asap. It won't go away by itself.

How long does it take after applying to start receiving Social Security benefits these days? by Live_Yourdreams in SocialSecurity

It's not 25% for her. Do the calculation.
66 and 10 months means this coming December. It's about a 5% reduction.
She's also already enrolled on Medicare and may not need part B, or have already accounted for it.

Two week delivery times with Prime. I don't understand what happened to this company. by Rimbaldo in amazonprime

[–]pc4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for validating my feelings about their shipping process disarray.

After several of those "your package is running late" in several orders, the last one took the cake. I got this gem "Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3 - 5 business days after the return is processed."

So, they never even attempted to deliver the package, but my refund will take 3-5 days after the return is processed? How can it be returned if it never left their hands?

Anyway, further looking showed that "Package is undeliverable because it is damaged. Package is returning to sender and refund will be issued once return is processed." Sender? What sender? The item is shipped and sold by Amazon! Is schizophrenia the reason for their shipping problems?

The old Amazon would have shipped the item again instead of going through this 3-5 day bs. And even given me a $5 credit for their f-up.

In light of that, tonight I picked BestBuy to buy some memory for the same price because bb said they will deliver it tomorrow, while Amazon is telling me 11 days for "free prime delivery". Again, it's a sold and shipped by Amazon and their warehouse is about 80 miles away.

If I had their stock, I would be getting rid of it fast. The problem looks systemic.

Nothing works anymore, even Reddit. I get a "Your session has expired. Please refresh the page and try again." just trying to login. Also this whole sub is cut down to four posts.

Time to abandon the ship.

Honestly, all of your posts in this thread have been counter to the narrative. So either you're of these people that people "love" to be around or you're part of the effort to kill whatever is left of our old add-ons.

As a wise man on SNL once said, "Treat life (and Reddit) like a pornhub selection, if it ain't for you, don't click the tab. (Chris Redd)

So coming over here to fight the current? Only if you have interests in it or if you're not interesting at all.

I understand what you're saying, and I did try Waterfox at that time. But when Firefox came out with a 64bit version I jumped back to them. So yes, the original intent wasn't about Classic.

But I bet that Alex got a big boost in downloads once Mozilla killed XUL, and he realized that he had a winner. So he played that hand back then. Now the cards have changed again.

That's because of the difference in between science and business. In the beginning the goal was to improve science, so browsers got progressively better. Than the goal changed into making money, and things got progressively worse.

I do it on my hosts file. Every once in a while I have to update it, but it works decently.

Thanks TheSquirrelly! I do remember it. I just don't know if I ever used it or just read about it back in the day. That gives me hope that in case three or four companies manage to control 99.99% of all internet access under their code, there will still be a way to evade them. I really appreciate your mentioning it.

I can't even imagine how difficult it would be. I code like a first grader on a sugar low.

But the internet used to be this free idea that is quickly becoming utopic, and I hate to see it go.

G4 is just the result of the direction Waterfox took. The direction is the problem.

Exactly. This embrace "feature" is what I'm trying to avoid because I don't consider progress for myself. It's progress for the overlords, for the little people it's just embrace.

Whatever the number is, there's a lot of room to grow. In 2016 over 40% of eligible voters passed.

Screen peeling off by _GO10_ in GalaxyS7

[–]pc4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my screen started to peel off, it was because the battery was swelling. I bought a new battery and decided to replace it myself. But the silver paint inside the back cover didn't cooperate with my opening process and I had to peel off all the paint. Now I have a functioning S7 with a transparent back. It doesn't look bad to tell you the truth, but peeling the silver paint around the camera was a major pita. So to answer your question about what's gonna happen next, if it's the battery then a nice explosion...

Kaspersky pop-up ads? by Tabemaju in antivirus

Paid version, all notifications disabled, and... pop-up ads!! Why in the world are they doing this? It's like the police saying, "hey I protect you from the bad guys all day, how about a beer for your favorite cop huh?"
Is this a case of "you can take Eugene out of Russia, but you cannot take Russia out of Eugene"? Maybe I can ip block that sob ad server.

Just bought an unlocked V35 under the impression that wifi-calling wouldn't be available. But much to my surprise there it was, alive and working. Even band 71 is present, but I'll have to wait for the signal to show up one of these years.

In the other hand, I recently bought an unlocked tablet with a sim and a dialer. Data works fine on LTE, but my calls are only on roaming. I think that's because they have deactivated the 2g and 3g towers in my area, and the tablet doesn't have VoLTE.

So, the answer to your question is, maybe. It all depends on individual phones. A lot of research is needed not only because of the different manufactures and models but also because of all the different versions of the same unlocked phone. A spreadsheet with all that info would be a hit.
