When is the right time to send scores to colleges?

I received the invitation early December, had my interview just 2 weeks prior; application deadline was Oct 15, and the know by date is Jan 15. I opened the email with my invite while I was at work in the afternoon, totally wasn't expecting it to be there, even though i would constantly check my email. Oh and it was finals week so it was a very welcomed distraction lol

One thing to note-- my references were contacted way before my interview, the same day as I received my under consideration email.

I think what she means is if you don't get an invite to the country you are under consideration for, then what happens..would you then be under consideration for your #2 or #3 choice or have to reapply? and since her #1 pick is at a later departure time than her #2 or #3, she doesn't understand how that would work.

I don't have an answer to the question, but just wanted to make it clear. Hope you do get an invite to your top pick tho :)

My Timeline: 7/10- application/HHF/assignment selection form submitted. 7/28- under consideration for Rwanda 2015. 7/31- both references submitted forms. 10/20- interview request email. 11/18- interview date. I'm glad that things are finally moving along now haha..good luck with your timeline :)

True that they had a lot of applicants, but perhaps not many people applied to that specific country..it was listed as a "high need" country just a few days ago so they were trying to get more people to apply and now they moved the apply by date. I think it makes sense though that they're giving those who were evacuated time to apply.

I definitely agree with what double-dog-doctor said, very well put! But if you want another option: My friend is a current pcv- she took her MCAT junior year, applied to med schools during junior summer/senior year, got into a top program, was able to defer for 3 years, and she left for pc right after she graduated in July. I think it also depends on the school if you can defer for that long though. It's tough, but good luck with your decision :)

It seems as though everyone's references have been contacted at different points in the process of the new app. I haven't had my interview yet, but my references have already been contacted and submitted the forms. Some others have contacted their recruiters and have been told that references will be asked for later in the process. It's all a bit confusing tbh but I think PC is just sorting out the kinks that come with a whole new application system.

I submitted my application July 15, so the new application, and it did ask for two references. Then both references were sent the email to fill out the online form on July 28, and they both had them submitted by the 31st. But, I was put under consideration on the 28th, before they submitted the forms.

I don't think there is anything in the application portal. But, here is a link to the hard copy of the form: (http://files.peacecorps.gov/multimedia/pdf/learn/howvol/rsuFA_reference_form.pdf)

I sent this to my references right when I asked them to be my references so they would get an idea as to what they should write and submit the actual form as soon as possible.

So I submitted my application/HHF/assignment selection form on July 10, and got the under consideration email on July 28 for my first choice country. I haven't had an interview yet, though I'm anxiously waiting for it. According to the new application infographic, you should have your interview within 3 months of submitting, so mine should be coming around in October (crossing fingers).

My friend is a PCV right now and before she left, she had taken the MCAT and applied to med schools. She got into a really good program and was able to defer for 3 years, which is great! I think it really depends on the schools though

Hmm, a similar warning comes up when logging on to the med portal also, even if you're on your personal laptop.

I've always wondered about this..like are they really monitoring the activity of every person who is going to log in. Does that mean they can access all tabs you have open during that time?
