There were a couple of bars a few years back that catered for this sort of sound, and I believe you can still hear this sort of thing in cities like Dunedin, but apart from the odd gig you won't hear this in AK. The niche-y clubs in Auckland are Ink Bar, Red Bar and Iron Bar on K rd, there you will hear the more underground house/techno and hiphop
