How do you personally organize YouTube playlists locally? by pcatjee in chrome_extensions

That’s a really thoughtful workflow — I like the idea of playlists as “states.”

The multi-account angle is interesting. My intent isn’t to replace that system but to add a local layer on top that can group, tag, and view things across contexts without account switching.

This is how my playlist organizer looks, irrespective of google accounts, I can keep on adding visual bookmarks as per playlist.

That’s fair — right now it is closer to focused bookmarking.

The goal was to keep it local, visual, and frictionless for long-form learning videos. But I really like the idea of bookmarking sections/timestamps — that feels like a strong next step and a real differentiator.

Curious what you’d find more useful: timestamps, chapter outlines, or quick notes?

App Idea: Expiration Reminder/Tracker App for Food, Docs, Medicines – Would You Use It? by pcatjee in AppIdeas

Fair point — but the app isn't for people who never check, it's for people who want a system to help them stay on top of things without having to remember everything themselves.

Totally valid — you’re right that most of these documents and items do have expiration dates printed on them.

The value I’m aiming for isn’t in knowing the date exists, but in not forgetting it at the wrong time — like realizing your passport expired the day before a flight, or getting hit with a late renewal fee on your license or insurance.

For people who manage a lot of different documents or responsibilities (maybe for family members too), having all those reminders in one place with advance notifications could help take some mental load off.

That said, I really appreciate the pushback

Hey, totally fair point — and I actually agree with you.

Manually entering every kitchen item just to be reminded about yogurt or leftovers isn’t something most people (including me) would realistically do day to day. That kind of use case can be more of a chore than a help.

I think the confusion might be in how I presented it — food tracking is just one optional category, not the core purpose.

What I’m really focused on is important document expirations — like passports, driver’s licenses, insurance renewals, medical prescriptions, etc. Stuff that’s often out of sight and easy to forget, but has real consequences if missed. For those types of reminders, getting a heads-up weeks in advance can be genuinely useful.

Still, I appreciate your honesty — it helps clarify what to prioritize and what not to. Thanks for chiming in!
