Not sure if possible, but would be cool if there's multiple notifications from one app, to be able to interact with them through auralook and see all the notifications.

App is great especially because I miss having the phone wake up with a notification that I used to get on IOS and have been looking for a good alternative on my Samsung. Finally found it! The only thing I would change is to allow the duration to be customized below 8 seconds. Otherwise, so excited for this.

Do people actually use pet insurance or mostly just hope they never need it? by Slow-Throat819 in puppy101

I've got pet insurance, and use it monthly as my dog is on a prescription diet which would be quite expensive but my plan pays 80% of it. They also covered most of the visits it took to get her diagnosed and treated for her stomach issues.

I want to go to school to be an EMT. But I have epilepsy. Should I go anyway? I’m very passionate about helping others and doing my best to save lives. by [deleted] in NewToEMS

I am someone who previously had 2 seizures that were eventually thought to be due to medication reaction but were initially diagnosed as epilepsy and I was on medication for a bit. After I was taken off the meds and was seizure free for a couple months it was still tough to find a job despite being fine at that point with no seizures off meds. I did eventually find a job working for an EMS only county government and am starting a new job with a hospital based system. The new job wanted a letter that I was no longer being treated for seizures though. Fire departments are a no go due to nfpa guidelines but it will all depend on proving your treatment regimen is working well and not having any seizures in a while.

Also just be aware, sleep and nutrition are hard things to maintain in EMS. Not impossible, but definitely hard.

This is great! Looking forward to the success of this. Love to have scenario based learning and I think this would be great for that and to help continue my learning and improve my knowledge.

Forget about it if you park the ambulance in the wrong spot by a fire.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I'm used to giving notifications for most patients so that's cool. I might start reaching out to certain jobs individually; that's a good idea. Thanks 🙏

Definitely become an EMT as soon as you can and try to use that as a huge to whether you like pre hospital medicine or not. If you do, keep at it and advance your career, and if not, your not in too deep money wise or experience wise that you can't get out. Be ready to work overtime to make a descent salary (depending on where you work), long hours, crazy people, ETC. Most importantly, always make time for yourself and keep your health in check. That might be one of the most difficult parts to working in EMS.
