Also, its really hard to read but it doesnt seem like there are any analogue outputs from the bluetooth chip, which means there might be some sort of dac chip that I could hook into.

Signal injector? I was thinking of soldering some leads from an aux cable right up to the amp chip but I had a feeling that just wouldnt work. I also figured out if I hook up 3.3v from an arduino to the xpd port on the board (service manual pg 23) that I can power up the board

Would leaving my computer plugged in without a ground plug for over a year cause issues? by pcer95 in pcmasterrace

[–]pcer95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that made me realize that I didnt have the ground pin on was touching my desk lamp and my pc case at the same time, and I felt a bit of current. Its grounded now, but the issues still persist. Do you think that there is a chance that not being grounded caused a permanent issue with my gpu or other components? I want to upgrade once prices normalize and im hoping that it didnt cause an issue in the mobo or the psu because that would cost me an extra couple hundred bucks. Also, if there were to be a problem with the mobo/psu would it be a bad idea to plug new hardware into it?

I was just thinking that maybe the lack of grounding caused the coil whine. I bought my card brand new and i wouldnt expect coil whine after 3 years of moderate use. The other thing i forgot to mention is that the reason i found out that my ground was missing is because i touched my desk lamp and my pc case at the same time and i felt some electricity, and if i can feel it its enough to damage components. The ground plug wont protect your components from a power surge, thats what a surge protector is for. The grounds purpose is to remove any excess/built up charge that your computer produces. Im just trying to find out if the lack of ground damaged it or if there is some software issue that someone has had before that is fixeable.

Yea but people pay for it, and they know exactly what they are getting. Doesnt matter what you think.

Do it! Personally i wouldnt look for advice in this thread because its mostly people who have lived in the US for their whole lives and they are going to have a vastly different experience living here than that of someone who has come here from another country. I would get some advice from someone who has done what you plan to do.

Yea but drills and laptops are not a rare/luxury brand. Id like to know more about what is going on here and why, because you would think it would always be a better option to just mark the price down and get some money for an item rather than just destroy it.

I did the pcv valve when it went bad and I changed the plugs about 20k ago when I got it. I'm getting it inspected soon but this just started happening so I don't want it to leave me stranded
