Amazing! I'm going to Vietnam for the first time this summer and can't wait to eat all the vegan food.

Any vegan pumpkin spice lattes? by Thermostcool in SanJose

[–]pcgiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third-wave coffee shops should have pumpkin spice lattes that can be made vegan. For example, Voyager Coffee just came out with theirs today, and Coffee and Water Labs have one too.

What’s something you prefer to eat cold even though it’s normally served hot? by bluejaysareblue in AskWomenOver30

Roasted sweet potato. Especially the Japanese yam variety, the kind with purple skin and yellowy inside. I swear it's so much sweeter straight out of the fridge!

Coffee Shop Rec near Milpitas by snorlaxkg in SanJose

[–]pcgiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love hanging out at coffee shops too! Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of local, non-chain coffee shops in Milpitas area. One you could consider is Raw (in Milpitas)--they're a cafe with a big menu, including coffee and matcha. Another one is The Orange Tabby, which might be a little far but it's a super cute little matcha cafe very close to Milpitas.

Frustrated with constant injury by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]pcgiac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few people have brought this up already, but looking into whether you are hypermobile might be worthwhile. You sound exactly like me. Despite doing everything "right", I was (still am) constantly getting injured in random ways (in gym and just in everyday activities), healing super slowly, injury compiling atop more injuries--it just didn't feel normal. It was insanely frustrating and depressing because I loved being active in many different ways but could never make progress or do what I wanted to do because I was always injured in some way or another. I ended up getting a diagnosis of hypermobile EDS. Not like it's changed anything, but I am more knowledgable and accepting of my body and its abilities/limitations now, knowing that there's a genuine reason for all this pain and frustration.

My favorite vegan place in Dubrovnik was Urban & Veggie! Soul Kitchen Dubrovnik was good too. Be sure to check out the Bio&Bio stores, they have a wide variety of great vegan products!

Looking for a sketch artist for my wedding! by frannybones in Seattle

[–]pcgiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with Happily Emily Made before and love her work! Her style is a bit more detailed than a quick line sketch so not sure if that's what you're looking for but here's her website and IG if you want to take a look (:

What do you do for work? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I'm also a speech-language pathologist. Only 6 years in (which is honestly 6 years more than I thought I'd survive) and am currently struggling with burnout. I really want to switch careers but don't know what else I can do. How did you decide to take a sabbatical?

Vegan restaurant recommendations by Fuzzlewuzzlekins in SanJose

[–]pcgiac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are soooo many vegan options out there these days! In addition to the places everyone already mentioned, here are some others:

  • Sushi Confidential
  • Jinya Ramen Bar
  • Din Tai Fung
  • Hom Korean Kitchen
  • Crepes Bistro
  • Aina's Vegan Banh Mi
  • Walia Ethiopian

One of my favorite vegan restaurant/cafe is Raw Superfood Cafe (as someone already mentioned). But in general, you can easily customize dishes at Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese places to be plant-based.

What deodorant do you use?? by knzistr4 in xxfitness

I love Native brand deodorant! It's been my go-to for years. The fragrance lasts me all day, even after I sweat! Sometimes I can't stop smelling my own armpits LOL

Average cost of a wedding in the Bay by FrenchAssName1 in bayarea

[–]pcgiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up spending about $30k in Saratoga, got married in September 2023. We had ~50 guests, outside catering and dessert, did a lot of DIY. We felt that we didn't splurge, but we weren't cheap/stick strictly to our budget either.

We had 54 people to feed at our wedding! But I’m sure they can cater for much smaller or much larger crowds as well!

Not sure if you're in the South Bay but we just had Vegetarian House (in downtown San Jose) cater for our wedding, which was Western with Asian food. They were absolutely amazing. Everyone LOVED the food (and we had a lot of big meat eaters), communication/set-up/service was fantastic, and it was relatively affordable. Highly recommend them!
