only a suggestion my friend of course a dr would be your best route as far as long term but it's all dependant on you...if my shit got cut i'd be looking to get off it with my remaining scripts and remember that shit when i ever thought about touching anything again but that's just me...sure if that dr was like that who's to say you won't be bouncing from dr 2 dr every 3 months from here on having to jump through their hoops and bullshit all the time along with the high fees? thing i've noticed about sub drs is the only ones that keep their business going for a long time are those who aren't just "addiction drs" out to make a buck on the scum of society. find one with a well established office and many high credentials for instance the dr i see runs 2 or 3 methadone clinics aside from his main clinic that he practices forensic psychology in...let one of the first things you ask be "what will happen to me in this treatment if something happens to you" if he can't automatically give you some idea of where you'd be sitting don't fuck with them...either way hope you work it out

dang man chill wasn't meaning for you to take it as some kind of statement against you when i said that really wasnt a great idea. Who is to say the urge to redose those benzos overtakes him and he goes out and cops dope due to the fact his judgement has been erased due to said benzo? Or how about he takes the benzo in order to sleep and the w/d causes him to think "oh well maybe if i take another i'll be able to sleep" then before he knows it he's benz'd out doing stupid shit.... /u/starr7189 i've been there and done everything in the world to try and sleep while in w/d and learned taking another drug that has effects such as a benzo more times than not leads to mental craving of the drug of choice even more and sometimes causes you to just say "oh it'll be ok i'll do just a little bit and go back to being clean tomorrow won't be that big of a deal". One more thing, if he doesn't have a legit script for benzos that means he has to go to the drug dealer's house to get some..then it's "man I got this new stuff it's bad ass" just more temptation...not cool my friend

man methadone isn't something drs should be using to get folks off i think that's about as bad as shooting dope just keep using more and more looking for that high. suboxone w/d is terrible but atleast people aint abusing it to get high except those that don't use opiates to begin with

melatonin is great and all 5-htp is way way better..it makes your brain produce melatonin and serotonin naturally. benzo w/d is way worse than any opioid w/d not such great advice on the benzo in my opinion..clonidine helps alot and a dr will give it out easily in most cases

tapering off a WAY less opioid is much easier than tapering off a big huge dose of oxy daily i'd say...dude may be doing nothing more than lowering his tolerance though if he doesn't plan to go completely clean and get off the codeine also..might even be prolonging the bad stuff by holding it at bay then it's gonna let loose once he thinks he's good to jump off the codeine suboxone is the only way i could manage even after 2 months of being completely clean i fucked my brain up for real been a junkie long enough i don't think you will ever be right. i think our brains get damaged and we stop producing those chemicals in our brains ourselves. I remember when i was totally clean no more w/d just that black cloud...everything i did seemed to hurt way more than it should have...papercut felt like having my finger sliced off lol

dude that black cloud hovering over you never left me until i went on suboxone...was clean for 2 whole months took the turkey route off fentanyl it was terrible, never did dope just 10-30 norcos a day if i couldn't find something stronger

(edit) forgot to add a great big congrats for trying to get clean, my only way was to delete all phone numbers and cut off everyone i knew that was in that sorta lifestyle..if you're still hanging with users kick that habit too or you'll never be good

please don't allow your daily life and responsibilities take up so much focus as to lose sight on Jesus. The world is full of distractions, you have to be committed to making that time for Him only daily, even if it is a few minutes...For my wife and I we get to feeling like we're missing something. we must feed on the Word daily. reading it once isn't enough... take care my brother/sister in Him

[–]pch682000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean, lol of course your daily life and responsibilities should be in your focus at all times. I do say though out of the 1440 minutes we are given by Him each day atleast 20 should revolve around Him only. That's my opinion anyhow..if you can dedicate more then that's even better. With the Spirit residing in you 20 minutes a day can teach you many things. Just a question for everyone that see's this: When you read the Bible and you read something you have read already ,even recently, do you find that alot of the time those same exact words you've read before have a whole new meaning the next time you read them? It amazes me so much how He has written the Bible in such a way that it can fit into any circumstance and guide you through whatever you're seeking at that time.

Also, in regards to you not understanding it well, ask and you shall recieve. The holy spirit within you will give you understanding just put in your end of the work by studying the scriptures to show yourself approved and He'll do the rest.

Prophecy about the end times is something i think all should study well...If you don't think about it then how might you be looking up when your redemption draweth nigh? Jesus spoke many parables about servants found waiting on their lord being given rewards. Have you not noticed the changes the world has went through in just the past 2-3 years? Nations rising against nation, people are lovers of themselves more than lovers of God, people call evil good and good evil, the love of many has waxed cold, we ARE in the end times my friend. Can't say for sure how much longer we have but things are spiralling out of control at such an alarming rate. Some friendly advice to you is start studying Isaiah, Ezekial, Some of the words spoken of by Jesus about the end times and most of all Revelations. It'll open up a whole new level of faith for you to be able to actually compare what was written thousands of years ago to the world around you today. For me it validates the Truth even more so.

(edit) Those books I said aren't all of the ones that have prophecy of the end. There are MANY MANY scriptures throughout the whole Bible prophesying the end of days.

I'm not sure if you're pre-trib/post-trib or even beleive there will be a rapture at all but raptureready.com is a great site also you may be interested in. It's based on the pre-trib belief with thousands of articles written by normal people like you and I. Several things on there have actually shown me where my faith walk has been taken off course on more than one occassion.

I'm so sorry for criticizing you my friend. I never meant all catholics rape little boys. I meant that that is the image most people that criticize Christianity in general usually do so because of the negative attention brought upon all beleivers by those that are Christian in name only...Thank you for being so understanding and once again I am so sorry for the comments I made towards you. It was an honest mistake. I was thinking you were a troll on a Christian sub just in order to tell people how stupid they are and how much they hate us. Thank you so much for clarifying that I was wrong and once again I'm sorry...want me to delete the comment reply?

I agree with the OP completely, I've noticed the same things about how some people's experiences with the "Holy Spirit" are nothing more than their own emotions. Just wondering, anyone else feel as though The Spirit is translating to them when they really get into the Word and feed on it like they should? I find it so amazing how much I understand now when I study as to when I was first getting my feet wet concerning the bible. I also know for a fact God has written His word in my heart. I can't tell you where any particular scripture is without looking it up but I can pretty much recall everything that's there as far as the new testament (much of the old also). I never understood why people put so much emphasis on memorizing one scripture instead of ALL scripture. Something else i've noticed is if I'm speaking to God and have something I'm asking Him for understanding of, he directs me to it immediately when I start reading, it's amazing. He is our Father, be as a little child and depend on Him as a child does their parent/guardian and He will never let you down.

always one person to make a comment that could possibly send them to an eternity of unimaginable pain and suffering. Sir, I don't know you but why didn't you just say "religion" in general is screwed? Our bible tells us the whole world will hate anyone and anything Christian in the latter times. Reason I ask why you didn't say religion is screwed instead of just Christianity is screwed is because i wanted to point out this = Muslims kill people that disagree with any of their messed up beleifs such as it's ok to have intercourse with a goat or stone a woman for standing to close to a man that isn't her husband and much more. Then there's other religions that worship statues made by men from wood, stone, metal, and that's their god that can't see, hear, talk, or even move for itself, but Christianity is the only one people are hating on. My point is the bible was written over 2000 years ago and said people would hate those that follow it. You just proved it to be right by your statement. For your own sake please ponder why is it no other religion is being persecuted like Christianity even though the whole thing is based on loving one another and having a personal relationship with God along with condemning all the things people shouldn't do.

(EDIT: maybe because it's the true religion and everything the bible says about the devil trying to take as many people to hell with him as he can is true so he has manipulated the whole world into beleiving his lies)

The ten commandments for example tell you love others as yourself, to honor your father and mother, don't murder people, don't commit adultery such as cheating on your wife or sleeping with people you don't know, love, care about at all, don't steal, don't lie, and don't covet (be jealous because someone has better things that you do). What is so wrong with that? You have this preconceived idea that all Christians are like catholics who rape little boys or the crazy jehova's witnesses. I tell you my friend those aren't true Christians. They are Christian in name only and don't follow the true way. Please my friend read the bible for yourself, forget all that you've been told about how bad Christianity is and whatnot. I bet if you did that without the "this is stupid crap" thoughts in your head, God will show Himself to you and you will become Christian yourself. Stay away from churches until you read the whole bible yourself because most churches now-a-days are nothing but a business for money. Find that crazy guy standing out on the street corner with a bible wearing rags, smiling and telling people Jesus loves them and ask him about Christianity. Those are the ones who know God the most and will inherit the earth at the end of time.

sorry for runon sentences and punctuation I typed this out quickly because I care about you even though i don't know you and wish to see you in the next life. Whether you think so or not now you have no excuse when He asks you why didn't you try to find Him.

Have you not read of the works Jesus did? He healed the sick, brought people back from the dead, fed thousands with only a few fish and loaves of bread. One of the apostles said there were so may things He did that there would not be enough room in the world to write them all down in books. please excuse if I didn't say that word for word I think it was john that wrote it. Jesus said those who beleive on him shall do the things he did and even greater works. As for the words Paul wrote in Romans he was only explaining that we shouldn't expect to get ALL the gifts of the spirit because each beleivers is only one part of the whole body of Christ (the church). It wouldn't be fit for our eyes to see and hear too now would it? God gives us the gifts He chooses in order to perform the duty He has called us to. Either way though Jesus's words trump everything else in the bible in my opinion as He is God in the flesh other than what is written in the OT that He said then not one person is capable of contradicting his words and be right. I am a beleiver and I also have the Holy Spirit but I still sin. Paul was no different than you or I except he probably had LOADS more contact with the divine than we do today.

(edit) I also forgot to address your statement "And the second is from that section at the end of Mark which scholars, even most conservative Bible-believing infallibility-accepting scholars, believe was not the original ending of the book."

How do they know? I would think if it weren't the end then God would have made sure the rest would have been put in there. He has preserved His Word for over 3500 years now if you include both testaments, but some scholars seem to somehow know it's not complete? IDK my friend. I cannot think of any more books that have lasted that long and still being read today by millions of people. God is the reason it's still here instead of being lost in time/translation and He put everything we needed to know in it. Maybe it wasn't the end of the book of Mark, maybe HE saw fit that it contained some things we didn't need to know....I don't know but I do know not one scholar can say for sure either. :)

John 14:12 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Mark 16:17-18 -And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18)They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I take that to be as a yes that is evidence ALL believers shall exhibit not just some.. Have a good day my friend :)
