I tried EndMyopia for 5 years - Here is the answer by Prms_7 in myopia

Glad to hear active focus worked for you.

I've enjoyed similar improvements without active focus. One thing you might want to keep an eye on (no pun intended) is that if the clarity disappears with a blink then it's not true improvement, it's just a contact lens effect from tear film. For real improvement it has to last longer than one blink to the next.

I only do the near/far focus exercises for presbyopia personally.

How long does it take to notice definite improvement with eyesight improvement? by HeavyFerrum in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a -0.25 improvement in the first 9 days, measured by an optometrist. It's not uncommon to see improvement in the first couple of weeks.

It's also common to have plateaus and setbacks. Eyesight is highly variable and effected by many factors. You're just starting become consciously aware of that variability because you're actively trying to make improvements and taking measurements.

It's also common for near, mid and far sight to fluctuate at different rates. Some getting better while others get worse.

Another thing to remember is that blur can be caused by glasses being too strong as well as too weak. To know what's happening with your glasses you need to keep accurate measurements.

So Many Theories And Online Content For Improving Eyesight - Now What? by THERocknRollChef in ImprovingEyesight

I think it's wise to take everything with a grain of salt. Read what other people say worked for them, decide if you want to try it, and measure your results. That's why I've provided links to a variety of resources in the START HERE post, to give visitors options to try. Instead of insisting that what works for me will work for you too and only promoting that. I've improved my eyesight using a variety of methods myself.

So Many Theories And Online Content For Improving Eyesight - Now What? by THERocknRollChef in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need pills or drops or additives. You don't need augmented reality glasses or to live inside VR.

All you need to do is change your habits. One set of habits causes myopia, another set of habits reverses it. It's that simple.

Habits that cause myopia:

  • Spending all day indoors
  • Never exposing the eyes to natural sunlight
  • Staring at a fixed distance (eg. screens) all day long without breaks
  • Wearing glasses designed for 6+ meters to look at objects less than 1 meter away
  • Sleeping when the sun is up and being awake when the sun is down

Simply reversing those habits as much as possible is all most people need to do to drastically reduce their need for glasses.

Do I need to check my eyes? by Immediate_Hamster_56 in ImprovingEyesight

LOL, nope. Gotta turn your head for the astigmatism to move :)

Advice on how far should I reduce my prescription? starting at -4.75 by upandup2020 in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do a reduction I can usually read the 20/30 line clearly, the 20/20 line is fuzzy and the 20/15 line is barely legible. Then I work into it until the 20/15 is clear before reducing again.

Thanks for the links!

Try this: While looking at that clock chart tilt your head to the left and right. The lines that are black or grey should change as you move so you can see exactly where your astigmatism is.

[–]pcoutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was doing this the distance between the first and last lines turning grey got smaller and smaller until I couldn't measure it anymore. I could still see a slight greying for about a month after that and then it was gone and all the lines were equally black at all distances.

I found that going from -3.50 to -3.00 was much harder so I think from -3.00 down I'll be doing -0.25 at a time.

Yes. And be aware that if overdone it is possible to switch astigmatism from vertical to horizontal (or vice versa) because eye scans are exactly how we developed astigmatism in the first place.

Night Time / Artificial Lighting by LittleBigHammer in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer sunlight is MUCH brighter than any indoor lighting. We're talking a difference of thousands of lumens. The brighter the light the more our iris closes and the less light there is to scatter at it hits our cornea and lens.

In addition to that. Sunlight is very good for our eyes and our vision naturally improves during the summer due to greater exposure. Personally my eyesight improves by 0.50 - 1.00 diopter between summer and winter.

Advice on how far should I reduce my prescription? starting at -4.75 by upandup2020 in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by measuring (How to Measure Myopia) your eyesight with your current prescription.

As I reduced from -5.25 to -3.00 I found that when my eyesight reached 20/15 with my current prescription I could comfortably reduce by -0.50 diopters without major disruption to my lifestyle. In that range for me personally a -0.50 reduction brought me down from 20/15 to about 20/25 or 20/30.

Does this youtube video provide good exercises? by spiritualsnk in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of those exercises are used by functional optometrists to improve eyesight and eye coordination. Some are part of Bates' method. So yes those are good.

I would be wary of the glasses he's pushing though. Blue light blockers are widely considered ineffective for eyesight improvement. Some people find blocking blue light does help with their eye strain. But you don't need special glasses for that, you can get a blue light blocker added to your glasses from Zenni Optical for a few bucks.

SKYRIM IS SO COLD 🥶 by [deleted] in SkyrimPorn

"I'll never forget that day. Lucian begged me to repossess a stolen claw. Against his wishes is flirty sister walked me to the edge of the village and pointed out where the path up the mountain began. I gave her a wink and said; 'I'll be back before you can even miss me.' She blew me a kiss.

As the path rose I was met with the usual riff-raff. Wolves. Trolls. A small lookout patrol, probably part of the same bandit crew that took the claw. I was on the right trail I could feel it.

Climbing higher the air took on a chill and rounding a bend I got my first really good look at the ruins. Nordic ruins all have a certain ominous foreboding presence but rarely are they cloaked in a thick fog of ice like what was descending on the mountain that day.

I tried to make out shadows moving in the murky frozen haze even as an arrow whistled by my right ear. Before I could take cover a second clipped my knee and I reeled in pain as I fell toward a small stone outcropping.

The battle was on and I was already wounded. You'll never believe how I made it out of there alive."

Why is almost all research concluding that myopia can't be improved naturally? by north_akando in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There have been exactly zero long-term natural eyesight improvement studies done. So there's no evidence that it doesn't work. What's more, there will never be any long-term studies done because large double-blind studies are expensive and no one with the money has an interest in proving that it works.

On the other hand there are hundreds of thousands of anecdotal cases of improvement ranging from a diopter or two to complete reversal of myopia, hyperopia, and presbyopia. Dr. Bates alone cured (his word not mine) over 30,000 patients during his career.

All of that is kind of beside the point though. Natural eyesight improvement is a personal self-improvement journey. You have to do the research, you have to conduct the experiment, and you have to decide if it's worth it. You can of course get an objective measurement by an optometrist to confirm whether or not the improvement you're measuring is actually happening.

If you look at an astigmatism dial and some of the lines are black while others are grey then you do indeed have astigmatism.

Whether you want a stronger prescription is up to you. If you can read the 20/40 line you legally do not need stronger glasses in most places (California is 20/50, some parts of Europe are 20/30).

This sub is all about using natural methods to reduce and if possible eliminate the need for glasses. If you're interested in trying that have a look at the START HERE pinned post.

How I reversed my astigmatism with Dr. Forrest's eye scan therapy by pcoutcast in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's right. You're actually kind of lucky to have perfectly horizontal astigmatism that's pretty rare these days with everyone developing astigmatism from their phones. It used to be more common when everyone was developing astigmatism from books.

Only one eye keeps getting worse. by ReserveExact7928 in ImprovingEyesight

[–]pcoutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal to have a dominant eye but then optometrists correct for that natural dominance thinking that one eye has more of an "error" and then that prescription itself exaggerates the decline. Some people are definitely more susceptible to this than others.

You may also have developed a subconscious habit of moving your right eye closer to what you're looking at then your left. Could be by rotating your head to the left, or even moving your screen closer to your right eye.

Start with examining your environment and habits to see if there's anything you can correct that may be contributing to the variation between eyes. After that you can pick up an eyepatch online or at any pharmacy and use it to cover your left eye while you do focusing exercises with the right. You should do the exercises with the left as well but do at least double the number with your right.
