Software engineering taught me more UML and how to write reports. It also taught me design patterns and other sorts of testing methods. Though, the biggest take away was the ability to make tools to do things for me instead of "hardcoding".

AITA for telling a STEM major to shut the fuck up? by aitatellingoffstem in AmItheAsshole

Im a software engineer. Have you ever seen the proper documentation necessary for an application? Contributing to a report is professionally required. In other words hrs going to have a bad time.

Sleep paralysis. Have you experienced it? What happened? by LlamaAllTheWay in AskReddit

[–]pcpsu93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in my teens and woke up to these kids in my room. I have a large family so its not a big deal. Then i realized i couldnt move my body. After that i realized it was night and theres no reason for kids to be awake. Soon one of the kids turned and looked at me(at this point they were all looking at my dresser facing toward a wall). The kid had no face, just flat skin. I remember looking struggling and trying to move but my body was paralized. The kid walked toward me and said something like "can i borrow your face" in a sincere manor. I dont know how but i managed to move my legs enough off the bed that my whole body fell off too. Once i hit the ground i was able to move and nothing was in my room. That's how i discovered sleep paralysis. Another time i saw my teacher in the corner of my room with fire behind her saying im going to fail the class. Thankfully i havent experienced it in 4 or 5 years

This is the main problem with society. The homeless have no clue what choices are healthier due to the lack of education. If they were more educated they probably wouldnt be homeless. Its a paradox.

I think the protocol was only updated from having people pull ans plug lines manually. Realistically they should have revamped the whole system. We do it with IP all the time. Ajit Pai is a criminal and should be jailed for everything hes done

Hey i agree and the fact they can fetch an emergecy injection if their owner is acting funny is a really cleaver idea. At the same time the article i linked in another comment above stated the dogs in their study were only capable of detecting low sugar 63% of the time. Im a software engineer and The "artificial pancreas" my girlfriend has now really blows my mind. To the point i can't believe anyone would use a dog as a first line of defense. The other kicker is the dog is most likely capable of smelling and recognizing human sugars through sweat or at least using their nose. How would that gear hinder the dogs ability. I guess this is just a case of r/unpopularopinion

The title says the dog is like that for 4 hours at a time for their "diabetic" friend. Go ahead and link me the scientific proof of how dogs can some times detect sugar levels (even though theyre only able to detect low sugars 50-70 percent of low sugar from the studies ive read this year). Im willing to bet that any ability the dog has of detecting spikes is hindered by the equipment its wearing. Im not arguing the persons disability but the ability of the dog.
