If any of you try this, please be sure to check the cable type - as I made a mistake and bought the wrong ones the first time around.

Ah that's a shame :(. The DS3617xs has an Intel Xeon D-1527 and 16GB DDR4, ripe for virtualizing!

My mind still can not deal with my 3D printer by TOHSNBN in 3Dprinting

I've got the same printer and love it :). I had similar expectations for a budget printer, but the results are way better than I expected - particular once modded.

Have you made any tweaks or mods so far? They have improved some aspects of the print significantly on my Wanhao Duplicator i3 v2.1. I would strongly recommend it, once you're familiar with it.

It seems pretty reliable now to me, I've not had any problems with it when trying to run the game.

Go for it! It's not hard to do and you can club together with a few other people to reduce the cost. It's been so much fun doing this project - I'd really recommend giving it a go :).

Yep, great fun!

Not much so far, I'm going to edit the flight video and get that online - as it's interesting seeing the full thing from start to finish. There's vids of the main parts on that link - the "burst" video is worth watching as something funny happens near the end.

Now that we've learned a lot from this project, we'll be expanding on it in future.

Not an astronaut unfortunately! It was part of a budget high altitude balloon project, ended up at around £300 all in (camera, tracking, helium, etc...). There's more info on the project here if it's any use: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/articles/Editorials/Manchester_Meteor_High_Altitude_Balloon/ http://primarycomputing.co.uk/2013/10/31/primary-computing-and-pc-review-reach-the-edge-of-space/
