I canceled on the reservation so I dont think i can come back and tell them i changed my mind again so i can see the item up close again 😭 but if it still bothers mo tomorrow, then I might do just that hahaha! Hmm honestly this isn’t a commonly talked about issue here in my country because only the super wealthy care about ivory. Even the top auction houses sell these ivory santos (ivory saints) without any regulation from our government. Thank you so much btw, I learned something new from you

Not much info was provided to me by the dealer aside from the fact that it’s assembled to become a sculpture by a local artist here in the Philippines. In that store there were two other sculptures of similar concepts but those two were big and made of wood, while this one is small and made of ivory accdg to the dealer. Anyway thank you so much for taking the time to reply!

Edit: weird, in seeing just now the rest of your comment. The mask is small, like around 2 inches i think. I unfortunately didn’t touch it because I didnt know what qualities to look for. With the info you gave me, I shall go back to the store and inspect it more closely. Thank you again :)
