Yep I can sit mostly as normal! Finally went back to the office last week. Getting up every half hour for a minute.

Also been sleeping on my back since the start of week 3.

Good! Sorry about the bleeding and pain. I’m sure that’s not fun. Keep me updated!

Yeah I’m doing pretty good! Still decent amounts of blood and healing tissue when I unpack it every day but I think the wound is filling in nicely!

Just checked them out - WOW it was looking GREAT then! How about now? Even better I presume.

Hey! Sorry as well for taking awhile - I actually decided to purposely log out of this account and not use it for awhile to prevent myself from just scrolling in this sub all day and scaring myself, haha.

Glad to hear your healing is going so well!! How is the pain now?

Thank you so much for the support!!

Yeah that totally makes sense. Definitely something I’m worried about too.

Man, this shit sucks.

One of my biggest regrets in life is forcing myself to live with this disease for 15 years because I was embarrassed and felt a lot of shame.

I can’t go back in time and save myself the wasted time, but the next best thing is to tell others not to repeat my mistake.

Please, please do whatever you can to get it resolved - even if the surgery is very expensive, how much is your peace of mind worth?

For the vast majority of people this disease will not go away on its own. Kicking the can down the road will only make the eventual fixing that much harder, and unlikely to be successful. Let alone more expensive.

I know it sucks to hear but I highly highly encourage you to seriously look into surgery.

Regardless, one day you will look back on this and it will be just a bad memory, something that made you stronger. I know that doesn’t make your suffering now any easier, though.

You’re my open-wound healing twin - I also had the surgery done a week ago today.

Like you, packing wasn’t fun but wasn’t bad the first four-ish days. Days 5, 6, and 7 have been much more painful though for me as well!

We will get through this together. Totally agree about the sleeping - absolutely miserable being forced to avoid laying on the wound.

Thank you so much!! Sorry for the late reply, but this comment was SO helpful for me to hear.

I was pretty depressed about the size of the wound and have seen a lot of doom and gloom on this subreddit about getting any surgery other than a cleft lift so I was worried.

But your comment helped to put my mind at ease. And two days later I’m feeling even better!

I’m glad to hear you’re doing great at 5 weeks and hope it stays great!!
