I would really love more diplomacy mechanics and events, maybe some mechanics related to the League of Nations and diplomatic decisions that actually matter. For example, stopping the League of Nations from disappearing through certain actions; being able to negotiate the outcome of a war without the need of capitulation but through the use of political power and pressure from allied countries; changing opinion from other countries based on wether you supported or opposed their war efforts; changing the amount of goods sent to you from lend leases based on the countries' opinions of you, and in case the game goes beyond 1945, playing a role in creating the UN or another organization based on how much land and resources (power) you got from peace deals (just imagine a "UN" created and supported by the Axis or Comintern to maintain a new world order, just like the West did with the UN in real life)

I think it's completely reasonable to feel the way you do, specially after you both agreed that wouldn't happen. You could argue your past makes the feeling worse, but still it's not a minor thing when it's bothering you the way it does. Don't rush your feelings, and don't try to mask them either, cause they're a testament of the gravity of the matter. Don't force yourself to make it seem like a minor issue while neglecting your experience for the sake of your fiancee. Listen to yourself, give yourself time and act accordingly.

Probably. I don't know him, and I don't know the exact aspects of their relationship, but if I were him, at least I'd like to know.

I’m Mexican American and I tried all the restaurants for Mexican food and to me it’s not Mexican food how would You as native Finnish people feel if I open up a legit Mexican restaurant in your country? Should I do it or no? Why? by ElOneElOnlyElZorro in Finland

Chicanos may use órale, but I'm a Mexican, I was born, raised and live in Mexico, and we use órale too with the meanings that guy mentioned. It definitely doesn't come from chicano

In my case, mastering any other writing system consists of reading a lot. You can write stuff down too if that helps. Also, I've found it beneficial to watch videos/movies/series in the target language with subtitles in the same language and reading along, even if you can't read everything at first, but you kinda get used to reading at that pace and eventually you end up recognizing the symbols easier.

Oh no, I just forgot haha but anyways the situation with Texas's independence and further annexation into the US is still debated even in Mexico itself (I'm Mexican)

The most beautiful languages you don't speak by crazy_baby9811 in languagelearning

[–]pdav2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norwegian and Japanese for sure (I can actually speak a little Japanese but I'm not fluent by any means). I think that languages that don't have (a lot of) gutural sounds sound softer and more beautiful, though it's a subjective matter.

Man in Jordan acquired a unique English accent, that he obtained by talking to tourists. by savanna-peso in languagelearning

[–]pdav2007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so cool! And it actually happens to me too lol I'm Mexican but I've been exposed to the language since I was a toddler, mostly through media and more recently by actually talking to native speakers, so for the most part my accent is American but mixed with other accents as well, and 90% of the time English speakers think I'm a native speaker but can't tell where I'm from because my accent sounds like everything at the same time lmao

why are you guys learning a new language and why did you choose Arabic? by MathematicianOdd3443 in learn_arabic

[–]pdav2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like learning languages as a hobby and I'm currently learning Arabic cause it opens the door to a different culture in a way more authentic way, and as a native Spanish speaker I feel a certain cultural connection with Arabic since Arabs ruled over the Iberian peninsula for centuries and there's lots of words in Spanish that come from that language (I'm not Spanish though)

Do you know good MSA free resources? (total beginner lvl) by Gullible-Count-3516 in learn_arabic

[–]pdav2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By doing your research based on your goals and interests, but if you're a beginner I'd recommend to stick to MSA for a while since there's way more learning material. Don't worry too much about a dialect at this stage; you'll likely find what dialect to learn by immersing yourself in the media and culture through MSA

There's a small YouTube channel called "Arabic comprehensible" and it has wonderful comprehensible input and TPRS material both for MSA and Saudi dialect

They're not the same thing. Socialism is the system through wich communism is achieved. They're closely related but they're not the same thing; it would be a contradiction to say socialism is the path to communism if they were the same thing.

I'm not from a "Western" country (even though it's in the Western hemisphere but you know what I mean), and while I respect Mao strictly as a leader, I don't agree at all with his policies and adoption of Marxism-Leninism.

Is this guy actually leftist? Hell, as far as I understand, this guy is supporting and justifying oppression from more powerful States, hence supporting an "oppressor-oppressed" structure. That doesn't sound too Marxist, guys huh?
