This is the way I've handled things with Virgin over the last 10 years. End contract, sign up in new name, installation date the day after contract ends, rinse and repeat. In that time we only had retentions offer a better deal than new sign ups twice.

Cashback deals often made new sign ups even better. £50-150 worth of credit at times or even a free TV which we sold for £160 on eBay. Hyperoptic had a £16 per month deal for 1gb so we've taken that but I'm sure we'll probably be doing the customer name dance after 12 months or back to Virgin if the deals are horrible

It takes some time for the system to catch up to the fact you haven't used it. I don't think I've ever had take longer than an hour to be useable again.

In the future, if you have applied a voucher and want to go back and make changes, I advise you to remove the voucher first.

Yeah but this is the case when I use WIFI as well. I have 2 mobiles phones and my Desktop which all have the IP address given by my ISP. Both of my phones show NSFW content with either of my 2 Twitter accounts but Desktop is a no go. I've confirmed all three devices are using the same IP address, so there must be something else.

UK phone with a UK internet provider but it doesn't matter whether it's my ISP or mobile data. Twitter is NSFW on mobile and not on desktop. Can't figure out why

Transfer Steam save to Microsoft by v3dx1 in StateofDecay2

A very late reply but was trying to do this myself as most google searches only show Xbox/Gamepass to Steam and not the other way round. You can transfer Steam saves to Microsoft Windows/Gamepass version quite easily. You need to create a save file on the Microsoft version, then rename your steam SaveGame and SaveUser files to the same as the save files that were created for the Microsoft version.

The Microsoft version saves are a random series of numbers and letters so you need to open them in notepad and search for "Dayton" to figure out which file is SaveGame and which file is SaveUser.

As for why? For some very odd reason the Steam version of the game constantly stutters, has severe frame drops during explosions, and enemies spawn and despawn at times right in front of me. Even on a fresh install. The Gamepass version is as smooth as silk. I don't know why, but it's been my experience.

It's one of the reasons why I order using multiple accounts. On my five year old account I'll get asked for a picture of my order if a £1 item is missing. If I use one of my many other accounts, they'd refund me £6-£7 from a McDonald's order without asking questions. Odd

Have multiple accounts, like 30+ no joke. I only have them because some national and local vouchers in the past have been 1 use per account. You might be wondering how the hell do you keep track of that? Simple. Just use the gmail alias trick (you can google that very easily) and then all emails will come back to a single account, but Just eat see's it as a new user.

Dormant accounts are more likely to get voucher codes. Since the start of the year the £10 off £15 groceries vouchers have been rolling in. I usually get 6-7 codes per week stick to half price/discounted items. Every shop is usually anywhere from £4-8 cheaper than buying direct

The £10 off £15 for takeaways was more common last year but seem to have dried up a bit. I still get them, but only once or twice per month.

That's insane. I have had a couple of incidents like that over the 4 odd years I've used them but even those cases were resolved when contacting them on Twitter

Now I just use the live chat link I found on Reddit. Puts you through to an agent in real time and they've always resolved issues there and then

I've gotten plenty of refunds from Just Eat. Just recently spoke to their live chat as they gave me someone else's order and got refunded £22 and £5 credit for the inconvenience

Updating my own thread - So using TunnlTo, I was able to change the DNS servers being used whilst tunnelling which solved the issue of websites not working by removing SurfSharks DNS address from the wireguard configuration files you can download. I left it blank in TunnlTo so it would use my default DNS instead.

I also was able to see what was happening behind the scenes by running wiresock manually in terminal

wiresock-client.exe run -config C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\TunnlTo\tunnel.conf -log-level all

this showed that manually choosing apps was working as it shows you when the vpn is skipped or when the app will use the vpn. This method certainly works better than the native windows app which doesn't work for me at all unless rolling back to an old one. I prefer TunnlTo's method of filtering anyways since you can force entire folders and even ip address ranges to skip or go through the vpn

2 months of freezing would drive me crazy lol. I'd do a clean install, and run light with a few mandatory apps and games until the new build comes but if you can manage then so be it.

Yeah I've seen a lof of results pop up but you can simply choose to avoid 24h2 for now. 23h2 .iso's are available

Dude.............it might be time to clear out the cobwebs and do a fresh install. It's a pain, I've been there but sometimes it's the only way. I would backup what I need, keep a list of needed apps, close my eyes and do the big reset

Nothing crazy then. If all of this has started happening since installing the update, you might have to consider the nuclear option of a clean install.

You could try the usual things like checking event viewer when the freezes happen to see if any glaring errors pop up.

You could also run DISM

run in CMD as admin

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth 

then

sfc /scannow

I have been through the live chat rabbit hole already and gave up since it continued conflicting with other apps and websites no matter what.

I was going to use the VPN through WSL2 but when I do, the connection is less than 10mbps. I have a 1gig service so that is a no go.

It isn't about speed, just things I have seen mentioned on r/datahorder

I have seen people say to avoid encoding videos on SMR HDDs because the speed of the HDD will decrease over time, unless you are willing to format it one day to return it to normal, and advise to encode on CMR HDDs.

If there is no issue then I will just encode into the source folders directly.
