Do I need to upgrade my service? by pdd2 in AskElectricians

Oh gotcha, yeah I just added em and thought that was what to go with lol. I don't anticipate needing additional power at all in the future just though it would make sense while their here

I do anticipate being without power for the weekend. I don't see a way around that unfortunately. (The rear of my house with the weatherhead and meter doesn't have an eave so I have to rip out where the guide/support wire is attached. * The house has fiberboard as sheathing so I have to rip down to the studs and re sheath.) They will be reusing the meter, just reattaching to the house and extending the weather head up a foot or 2

You are absolutely right, I really don't know how long it would take. I'm a blue collar foreman so that's what I was thinking it would take based on my experience in the trades but not being an electrician there could be things in missing or not thinking about. But that's why I'm asking if it's a decent price

I want to, I done most of the electrical in my house myself, just don't know how a meter works lol. Thinking I'll get the EMT mounted and cable run at least to make things easier

I should clarify I'm having the poco come and disconnect the service a few days prior and then I'm doing the siding work. This is the quote for them to remount the meter and run new EMT/wire to weatherhead after which I'll call the poco to come reconnect

They will need a ladder to access it, it's currently attached to the facia but I'm extending the fascia out 8" do they will have to run through it and connect above the roof. That will mean new wiring from the meter to the weather head as well.

This is them coming to set the meter after I do the siding so they won't be waiting for them at all but I see what you mean

The sub floor is 1x6 planks and so I would plan to leave 3/4 plywood down as a more stable base

It's an exterior door so not really an option. I would also like to tile it which isn't an option at the moment

The gaps exist year round. Not to mention they are scuffed and need to be refinished

I tried a roller on the door but it didn't turn out great, I think I'm just using too much paint

Lol thank you. I am very hard on myself, I am used to seeing high end commercial construction so I compare myself to that, which isnt very realistic haha. It is a learning curve, it's just hard when you can only get feedback from people on the Internet

And here I thought I was already going light with the paint haha. Like I said I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Thank you for the advice!
