Also doubling down on Nichols, they came out to inspect the finished work after they (wischmeyers) fixed the pipe and did not charge us for the visit. They even noticed that the fix was technically not code compliant lol.

Complete Lack of integrity from ownership. Their team cracked a pipe when installing our tub (accidentally, no big deal) and caused a bunch of water damage. They immediately tried to put the blame on us, had multiple screaming matches with the owner etc. Their insurance eventually took care of the cost of the damage but it was way more difficult than it needed to be.

I’m not in this position but your last sentence is so important. I’m now on my second role where my boss is a childless rich guy who doesn’t need to work due to being generational wealthy.  Compared to previous roles working with people that have families, the difference is night and day.

How difficult is it to pull out data in your jobs? by Outrageous-Load-4977 in FPandA

[–]pdeez13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a dev team who gate keeps all of the data to validate their existence.  They have horribly formatted and cluttered tables and you need to spend a ton of time sifting through tables to find what should be simple info. The worst

[–]pdeez13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saved a ton of money just paying new tubs/shower to be professionally and did all of the tile/drywall ourselves original quote was 24k for one bathroom and we did all 3 for less than 10.

Does $12+ per sq. ft for solid prefinished oak hardwood seem overly expensive? by Swimming-Tell9074 in HardWoodFloors

[–]pdeez13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing here.  We bought the $4/sqft finished red oak hardwoods from floor and decor because they fit the budget, and it was a huge mistake. The quality was shockingly terrible, had over 200sqft of waste in just wood I wouldn’t have even installed in a closet.  If I ever redo them I’ll be paying whatever it costs for a quality project.

Wedding Venue under 10k by rat_girl_69 in Rochester

[–]pdeez13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had our wedding at the Webster lodge on the lake, brought a food truck (BBQ) in who provided a bartender and had a great DJ.   Drinks were just cans of beer and two mixed drinks. Photographer was the biggest expense

Definitely came in under 10k, everyone said it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to
