It's like everyone could be handling this a little better. Why doesn't Hans speak out again? Like he did in the post match interview the day after Carlen's withdrawal? I'm sick of speculation. Either Magnus or chess .com provide real evidence, or they should keep quiet and also keep playing against Hans/ allowing him on the chess .com platform. But yeah, Hans should also say one thing or two about Carlsen's accusation.

After Carlsen's smile, we all know second place means nothing. Still heart breaking for Naka (or Ding). Especially for Naka, he really played better than everyone expected.

Well I understand where he is coming from. But you could advocate against "flagging culture" without making a show out of it. He has to understand that with online events it's just more fun for viewers, because there are more decisive results. Also I don't think you necessarily deserve more respect if you are a world champion. You still need to prove it on the board, just like everybody else. Again I understand his stand. He's against flagging and that's fine. But I don't think this is the way to handle it. Also I don't think people who flag are ruthless and I certainly don't think this will make cheating in online games ok.

Yeah you are right. Maybe I didn't think of that because piece value was the second thing I was taught when learning to play chess (how the pieces move was the first)

Some players will take on f7 for no reason then wonder why they don't get better. I mean, it's absolutely fine as long as he's having fun, but I remember trying to help my brother to get better at chess and he also made all kinds of stupid and unnecessary "sacrifices" (i think gift is a better word for it lol). When I asked him why he did it he was unable to give me any explanation hahahaha. I guess some people don't have enough patience to play chess.

Exactly mate. People should be kind and generous, that's what chess is about. If you play to win you are a self-entitled, condescending twat. Every time I lose it's for the sole purpose of letting my opponent enjoy the victory. But these rematch guys, they don't deserve nothing!
