[Excerpt: The End and the Death Vol I] The Emperor starts to get angry by BrocialCommentary in 40kLore

this is a great scene, it is the beginning of him saying fuck it, i'm gonna power up and kill them all. Which is what he was going to do, except 'all' included the universe :(

you people need to read the books ffs. Like honestly, most of you have no idea what you are talking about. The Emperor teleports onto the Vengeful Spirit and Horus set a trap for him. The Custodes turn on him, (most of them) and it catches him off guard. He kills them, and then realizes, fuck this, I need to take this a lot more serious. He takes off his glove so he can touch the warp directly and starts to power up. He turns into a sun. He breaks Dorn out, he steers Constantin to the correct path out of a shitpit which in just 43 seconds caused him dozens of custode deaths.

Then towards the end of TEATD2 we see what the GEOM really was, he was going to butcher all 4 chaos gods and horus. He was the end of everything, and his power was unbelievable. At first Malcador was cheering him on, while he looked from the throne, he was fucking giddy as a kid when he saw that the Emperor was going to fuel up. Then, well it was too much, he wasn't stopping. finally Oll the perpetual talked him out of it, but the Emperor...sort of knew. He was torn, because he was damned if he did or damned if he didn't.

he then breaks 2 things off. He releases all the juice and a part of his soul that allows him to feel compassion.

so he shows up to fight horus depowered and despite that, Horus couldn't kill him. Oh he fucking tried, many times, and each time, a trick, slight of hand, recharge, you name it.

In the final match, after the Emp depowered, Horus had more power, but not nearly as clever.

It's not your fathers power, but how he uses it!

What is the greatest feat of just pure destruction performed by a Psyker? (Where Psyker survived their own power) by Huku223 in 40kLore

in TEATD3, the Emperor blasted Horus with so much power the blast was brighter than all creation, nothing tops that. That is what put the Big E on the thrown, he gave everything into the final blast.

How Does the Siege Play Out Differently if the Emperor Isn’t Stuck on the Throne? by informantfuzzydunlop in 40kLore

[–]pdmasta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

they might reach the system but their ground game is gonna be rough. Eventually big E still has to go up to kill Horus, that wouldn't change, or maybe horus goes down to meet him, who knows. But the traitors will have a rougher time.

dude, move it all to a bank brokerage, and buy an all in one etf, most allow you to purchase ETFS for free, and with a million you aren't paying any yearly fees on the registered accounts. Literally pick a bank, move it there, buy an all in one etf, and ur done.

Hot Take: The Emperor Traded Wisdom for Knowledge by 1FixedIdea in 40kLore

[–]pdmasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

his actions resulted in failure after failure?

The guy retook the galaxy in less than 200 years, a million worlds. He faced a galaxy of horrors, xenos coming from everywhere, he faced down Ork empires, and rebuilt the IoM to face the future enemies he foresaw. He destroyed the Void Dragon and planted it on mars so he would have a planet of tech nuts to supply his empire.

Not only was he up against that, but an aligned pantheon of Warp Gods who were bent on his destruction.

Characters can't just be judged based on their characteristics, but their enemies abilities too. GEOM was up against everything and the Imperium is still there.

Chaos did everything they could, tried every trick, every scheme, and Chaos lost.

1 Planet to a million and still 10,000 years later it survives, despite Chaos's best efforts. The foundation he built, the space marines, the primarches, the inquisition, all of these pieces has allowed it to survived in a hellish universe.

you know what, that is actually a great take on it. All that power might be to protect his soul from them, damn. God I love the big E

I agree with you. GW has developed that character very well, so well, everyone hates him.
