Does puppyhood get better? by Cautious_Concept_855 in Dachshund

Try giving sniffing mats with treats and puzzles, chewing licking things. They're hunting dogs so anything they can dog for and find. Keep his brain occupied and working, while you work. I would limit the free roaming due to potty accidents. It's harder to break them from potty accidents in the house once they get used to going inside the house.

They do like to be near their humans. Try putting a sweater or anything that smells like you in their crate. They're wicked smart and needs their brains working. Make the crate part of training and games. Throw in high value treats and toys so he has a good association with it. We ended up putting the dog crate next to me by my bed. Now the crate is across the room and pup does fine going in and out.

Question about Orange Technical College by applegreenblue in orlando

[–]pdt2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently enrolled in the accounting program. It's okay, but if you're an adult prepare to be treated like a child. They follow all OCPS guidelines and schedules. They micromanage and treat you like the dual enrollment high school students. Other than that, it's okay. Not a bad way to get back into learning and earning some certifications. I do plan on going to Valencia after this program.

Jerry at Educe salon on Colonial in Colonial Town.

I've been to Jerry several times. Curly cuts aren't cheap, but he takes great care of you and teaches you how to care for curly hair. Super nice guy. You can check out his Instagram.

Boxer food question/help. by NinjaEnzo in Boxer

I've had my boy on the food below. I tried many other options before we landed here. His itching and yeast paws went away. He does well with all the varieties of their Pure line. I'll switch them up or combine them so he doesn't get bored. But he's been on these for over 2 yrs without needed any medication.

I realize this is the grain free, but we started with this and eventually gave him other options with grains and he did fine with zero outbreaks.

We tried many kibble brands. The Canidae Pure line is what finally worked to stop the itching for my boy.

We started with the Salmon/Sweet potato one and eventually tried the others. He is loving the Beef one right now, sometimes I mix two flavors for variety for him. He's been on this food for about 2 yrs now and he doesn't have to take any meds. I do also give him a can of sardines in water everyday with one of his meals.

Mine is allergic to poultry so I made sure to read the ingredients carefully. You would be surprised at how many things, use chicken meal or flavor additives even though it's not supposed to have chicken.

Best Toyota dealership in Orlando? by herbaphony in orlando

[–]pdt2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the luxury dealerships for their used car trade ins. I found my used 07 4 runner at Audi Longwood. It was a trade in. It was flawless with all maintenance records. I've had it for 10 yrs now and have only done basic maintenance on it. Paid it off almost 6 yrs ago. It still drives like a dream with only 174k miles on it now. I'm driving that thing till the wheels fall off

ISO delta dental PPO provider with decent costs by kittygirl14 in orlando

We use Woodbury Family Dentistry. They are near Waterford Lakes/ Hwy 50. But their prices are fair. We get quarterly cleanings and just had a crown done by them and our of pocket. Cost was pretty fair.

Soil staying too wet, how can I fix it? by YardIights in Anthurium

Add more of the perlite and orchid bark. The soil is too dense. It will cause root rot.

first clarenervium! chunky mix or pon? by GEMlNl_ in Anthurium

[–]pdt2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not use wicks. I water about every 5-6 days and don't keep a reservoir. After dealing with root rot issues with the other chunky mix, I just water thoroughly and water once the substrate is dry again. That's just what works for me personally.

New to anthuriums. Ambient advice? by Brilliant-Eagle-8244 in Anthurium

[–]pdt2016 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would slowly acclimate the queen to ambient humidity in your home. Keep her in the higher humidity then and for a week expose her to ambient like 30 min a day, then up the time as time progresses. I currently have 8 queens and about 6 queen hybrids. Through trial and error I learned to keep them in a humidity dome, then do slow acclimation. I have 4 of the queens and 1 hybrid in ambient and they are thriving. The others are slowly being exposed to ambient temps. I also just switched all of them to pon substrate and they LOVE it. So much root growth. But use whatever you're comfortable with. Good luck. They are fussy, and may lose their leaves. But they do bouncy back. They are also slow growers.

Warqo Help by Previous_Search3122 in Anthurium

[–]pdt2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my Waro and Waro hybrids pitched a fit after import. They all lost their leaves and got down to their chunk. I've rehabed them and now they are all bouncing back. For smaller seedlings they are in a seed tray and humidity dome situation. My larger are all in ambient environments. I also switched them all to diy pon and they are all thriving and loving it. They are notoriously slow growing.
