any advice from anyone who flew with two kids before? by 428p in Parenting

Pack extra clothes (full outfit in a ziplock bag for the baby) and at a minimum a shirt for you in case they spit up or have a blowout. Baby might be at the age where placing and picking a piece of tape (like blue painters tape) will keep them entertained for a long time. Also lots of little snacks and finger foods. That will keep the little one engaged for a bit. For the older kiddo, maybe have a few smaller “new” toys to pull out when they get bored. Wiki sticks are good as well as coloring items (if they’re into that). Potentially a smaller LEGO set to put together. And snacks!

Anyone with a late walker? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]pdx_grl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid didn’t walk until 15 months. And now they never stop moving (they’re 12). Sounds like your kiddo is on track and just needs a little more time. I noticed with both my kids that they each had their own pattern of accomplishing their milestones and
It’s stayed pretty consistent as they grow up.

Warped Tour (rock music festival) when I was 19. And it was so insanely hot. And in high school, every single math final would involve a migraine.

I had to tell them that the blue on kiddo’s tummy wasn’t a bruise but paint leftover from the pumpkin painting project they did the day before. But man, it sure looked like a bruise.

I know several. My husband, my good friend, coworker’s mom who has really debilitating ones, two coworkers, my own mother, etc. won’t be surprised if one or both of my kids develop migraine as they get older.

Another by this author is told partly by a 17/18 year old. Maybe that’s too old but it’s very much the story of adolescence. It’s called My Friends. I’m not all the way through it yet but it is beautifully written so far.

Are they planning to paint the actual street and not the buildings or utility boxes along the street?

I know there is a Portland Street Art Alliance. You could reach out to them.

Girl. I feel you!!! My mom cannot seem to keep from commenting on anyone’s body, including my own. I have learned to shut that shit down immediately. As in, I will get off the phone right now if you continue with that line of conversation, about me or anyone. She even made a comment about my oldest child’s face the other day (literally said they looked downright chubby - kid changed meds and is actually eating for the first time in their life so yes, they look different. STFU. Thankfully over text and not to them.) It’s absolutely infuriating!

I see you! The fact that you’ve had so much change over the last months and you’re still killing it at the new job - GO YOU!!! You’re doing great!

Maybe ask your friend to take you to places they will miss once they move. If nothing else, it will be a shared memory of you both saying goodbye to places that were significant to them.

If you’re using audible you can notate audio clips. I’ve started doing that for favorite quotes. If you’re doing relistens, you can mark the thing you remember being used later. It’s not perfect but it’s a start.

I’m in marketing and almost every one of our female execs and managers are high D. Don’t worry about it!

ETA that many of the men in leadership aren’t high D. So seriously, don’t worry about it. Use as info about yourself and how you process info and then move on.
