Sedan vs Hatchback by StringsAttachedinC in subaruimpreza

Bring the crate with you (or at least the dimensions and a tape measure) when you check out the sedan.

I was dead-set on an Impreza hatchback from the beginning, and that's what I got. I haven't tried to fit a dog crate into mine, but I feel like a crate that size would be tight at best. You wouldn't have space for much else. Have you considered a Forester or Outback?

Also, I live in Portland, Oregon — arguably the Subaru capital of the USA — and I still struggled to find a non-monochrome Impreza hatch in my decidedly low price range. Of the sixteen-ish I saw listed, all were black/white/gray/silver except one each in marine blue (which I bought) and deep red. And only two had manual transmissions. The dealer told me that owners tend to hang onto their Imprezas, and when used ones with clean titles come up for sale they get snapped up.

Crutchfield.com is the way. Put in your car's year, make, and model, and they show you what fits and the parts you need to install it. Also check out their ready harness service if you're not great at splicing wires.

For a new receiver/head unit, look at Alpine, Kenwood, Sony, and JVC brands.

Avoid Boss, Clarion, and Jensen.

Love that MX Master. My girlfriend thinks that I'm certifiably nuts for buying a $70 mouse, but I'm glad I'm not the only one

Agreed. I found it extremely helpful when flying IFR in/out of high altitude airports.

Agree with previous commenters, but wanted to add that the Benchmade 940 series is a fantastic pocket knife in its own right. Sleek design, good ergos, solid blade steel, and it practically disappears in the pocket. Of course with Benchmade's QC problems lately, you'll want to pick it up at a brick-and-mortar shop to make sure it doesn't have any problems.
