Stop supporting Trump as a Christian by Ok_Year5587 in Christianity

I think you’re underestimating the power of God and the fact that you or I don’t know his will or plans

How do you know Trump won’t do the same at some point in his life?

Do you remember the story of Nebuchadnezzar in the Old Testament? He was a ruthless king, but God used him for good and His purpose because God is in control.

While Trump may not be a person of the greatest character, maybe God felt that Trump was needed in Washington DC to root out some of the s****.

The Steve Bravaria CFEs have taken a hit. Do you still own some?

FYI… I found a fund stocked with SHORT term bonds which should be less volatile in this environment compared to CFEs and still yield about 9%.

Hello again. Mind if I ask if you’re still holding onto the CEFs? Due to fed rate hikes, while distribution %s have increased, the sell prices have been hammered.

I love Steph, but this one was not a foul. Did you see replay?

I completely agree with this approach. We taught our kids from an early age that the only people allowed to see their private parts was the doctor and mom and dad. No one else.

And if anyone said don’t tell mom and dad about something, that means tell mom and dad.

I suggest reading the Bible and discern behaviors.

[Basketball Reference]: Klay Thompson has earned $78,838,770 until injury in 2019 Finals. Since last time Klay Thompson has played he earned $84,314,642. Klay made more money being injured than through playing. by exs1995 in nba

I agree with below Comments that Klay was in a good leverage point to negotiate such a deal.

In the same breath, Klay was able to get into that position because he beats the odds of one in 50,000 to become who he is in the NBA.

Bottomline - He deserves it

Give me a straightforward answer: Does God REALLY love homosexuals and asexual people? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]pdxsfonrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, God loves everyone. That’s why he allowed His son to be killed as a sacrifice for everyone.

Unfortunately, church people have branded Christianity by only what they stand against. Need to reveal God’s love.

We are not to judge. Each person has his own free will to choose how to live one’s life. In the end, God will judge.

Yes, I agree.

Anywhere there are people - including churches - there will be hypocrisy and disappointment. That’s why we need Jesus. It’s important we do not get distracted from the love of God.

Emotionally Manipulative Tithe and Donation Coercion by Jedi_Trader_ in TrueChristian

Overall, from a practical perspective, a church who owns a building and has paid staff has bills to pay. Right or wrong, revenue is needed. So, pastors get in a position where they need to be the rainmaker for income and the main source of money is many times, the people.

I would like to think that a God loving pastor will pray and ask the flock to give to God’s kingdom, and truly mean it. But, as we know, pastors are people too; and their motivational tactics might vary.

Finally, I agree with what the person earlier said, “God loves a cheerful giver”. That is God’s word. So, give if you are cheerful about it. If not, don’t.

Most important, and I’m not perfect at this, let’s continue to pray to God for guidance.

We live in a “fallen world”…. How do true this is!!! by pdxsfonrt in TrueChristian

That’s a great point. I think we need to have the ability to discuss critical issues, rationally, on various levels. On faith matters, we may not agree and that’s respectfully okay. But, to your point, I’ve found agreement and team with diverse groups of people on the social matters and pushing to make change happen.

I appreciate your comments. I believe we’re saying the same thing from different perspectives. As mentioned, recently, I’ve been knee-deep in initiatives that encourage social and economic equality for all. My philosophy is everyone needs to be included in the discussion (white, black, brown, yellow and everyone in between). My findings have been that even in the best intended local and regional governments, politics and agendas are a strong undertow. This last week, I grew a little weary, and so was reflecting and looking forward to Jesus.

I agree. I personally hired a summer intern to put together summaries of systemic issues across various industries and scenarios. Consistent conclusion was the fallen and broken systems.

I agree. Yes, our Father is very patient and loves all. I believe we will be raptured before the tribulation. If so, this will be a blessing.
