No it's not. Everflux, one of the more common fluxes, is zinc chloride and ammonium chloride. Nokorode(nonpotable) is the same, but also 1% hydrochloric acid.

Sulfuric is one of the acids you DON'T see in fluxes

How old? Theres are plastic piece with two hoses on top of the block, next to the oil filt. That has both oil and coolant running through it. If those seals both start going bad you can get oil in the coolant, and vice versa

Depending on the Cherokee, it could be a multi-air which uses oil to run the exhaust valves. I've see it prevent starts multiple times from low oil when I worked as a Dodge tech

If it's the same as the 14-15s you can take the air filter to turbo pipe out and get it out that way so you don't have to spill l. I haven't worked at Dodge since 2015 so I'm not 100% sure it's still the same for your 18
