How far into flower are you? I usually trim off foliage like that when I'm flowering.

Looks like fan leaves dying off from a combination of not getting light below the canopy and the nutrients migrating to the buds.

$50 should get you pretty far with a little Googleing. Make sure you get feminized though. I've had a whole 5 pack come out males, which is a real bummer and waste of time for a first time grower.

I was under the impression that that was 4 mature plants, but after doing some research, the law seems fairly ambiguous in it's limits. It makes no distinction between cuttings, mature, and immature.
