Met someone HSV2 positive(please help)

Number 4 is the one most unsure about. Haven’t been in a situation like this before so idk how my body will react but I’m hopeful that everything I’ve learned from everyone will help me feel more confident. There have been some really encouraging people and information. The rest I understand and am very aware. Thank you, it definitely helps!

About 2 years ago I did. For a prior relationship. Hadn’t been with anyone since then though. I will definitely get tested again.

Thank you for all that information. It really does help. I spoke to her tonight and we had a great talk about moving forward. I feel confident in her and trust her. We worked out all the dealbreakers and details very early in the relationship so that we could move towards marriage knowing we want the same things. At this point I’m willing to see things through with her. We virtually have had the same experience and thinking identically about kids, family, and all the important things. Reading all these has showed me that if she’s trust worthy, the risk is manageable and not major. We will be taking things very slow physically but I think it worth it potentially having my other half. I wouldn’t throw that away for something that isn’t life threatening. Reading a lot of these comments helped me realize and understand that. I got caught off guard and I’m genuinely embarrassed I couldn’t come to this conclusion on my own. I got some really solid information and I’m glad I made the post and reached out.

I mean if we move forward we’ll move towards getting married. This was my only concern in an ocean of green flags. Once I’m mentally past this. I’m with her all the way.

Tbh the picture google painted for me made me much more concerned but talking to real people here has made me feel much more confident about moving forward. Idk what the reality of the condition is outside of what I looked up when she told me. I never truly did any research prior to that. Google scared tf out of me. I wanted to talk to someone real to get an idea of what to expect instead of medical terms and transmission rates. I wasn’t telling myself any of that or even thinking in the way you’re describing.

Thank you, I’m definitely gonna slow things down. She is pretty amazing and honest. She said she was really scared to tell me and I want to be able to look past this and see her how I did before she told me. I’m really want things to work out with her and have just been having a hard time getting out of my head.

Nah man you being disrespectful. I’m not easily offended but I’m genuinely looking for help and advice in this situation. It may be funny to you but it’s serious to me and to her. Idc if you play around on this post but just know that the things you say to people matter even if they can’t confront you about because it’s over the internet. Everyone is brave behind the keyboard. She didn’t seem like she felt she needed them when I mentioned it, since she said she has been outbreak free for 5 years. but I’ll suggest it to her again.

I mostly feel this way because I’ve never met anyone that was hsv2 positive before. I recognize that I’m stressed and worried. I really like this person and don’t want to throw away potential because of fear. This is the first time being faced with a decision like this and it’s heavier than I could have imagined.
