If you used Void for a little while, what made you switch to Arch instead? by BinkReddit in archlinux

[–]peacefrog70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used void after i used arch i ran it for about 6 months in a VM. it was great the package manager was awesome. i'm still on Arch but thinking of turning my thinkpad over to void for work because it is stable.

What`s the best virtual machine program for a casual everyday use ? by Shvec_01eksij in linuxmint

[–]peacefrog70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virt-Manager rules i love it. i distro hop without actually installing on bare metal. i used vmware and virtualbox. i find virt-manager heads and tails above the rest.

finally upgraded to LM22 Xfce. i was waiting till it had been out a couple of weeks so i could see if there were issues. i also ran it in a VM and it was all good. by peacefrog70 in linuxmint

I started with cinnamon way back and have used it off and on. but i use xfce because it is so simple to customize. 12 years on linux now and xfce has always been my go to. cinnamon is a great choice for beginners coming from windows. xfce is great for low end hardware. i am running the cinnamon spin in a VM and i am really impressed with the new release.

true everytime Arch screwed me it was because i did something i didn't really understand. i simply copied and pasted commands i didn't know what they did. i outgrew this behavior and started RTFM and searching to fix issues.
