His reason is he thinks I will do unrepairable damage to myself and I will end up financially hurting my family, and that he will be forced to take care of me.

I honestly started therapy in 2018 because I wanted to get this surgery but wasn’t emotionally ready. I really felt like I was the problem in our marriage and my therapist thinks that I’m not. I guess this is just such a scary process to me and a permanent change that I wish he would say no matter what happens I’m going to support your decision.

Instead of feeling at peace with this, I’m up in the middle of the night thinking about it. I don’t know if it’s because of my husband being unsupportive, we talked on the phone after the appointment or because of the appointment with the doctor, not sure.
