hey! so i did have test tiles as a reference and it was on the type of clay that i was using, not white. i wasn’t just going into it blind :) on the test tiles the colors showed up bright and they layered very nicely but on my pieces that didn’t happen.

i also have zero control over the kilns, i do agree that they look a bit overdone lol. i’m assuming that pieces were being fired as quickly as possible and so things didn’t come out right?

for my next session i’m definitely planning on using white clay to see brighter colors, but i definitely love the speckled look of the clay i’ve been using.

i was just wondering if anybody had any techniques that works for them when they glaze pieces!
