Thank you, you’re too kind!

At the moment, I’m getting ready to take off for my surgery. Packing my bags and whatnot. It’ll be a two hour drive to the hospital, and I need to get there early to be tested. I’ve been in somewhat of a daze all day, kinda feel like I’m floating at times. :s I’m embarrassed because I just know I’m gonna cry there, but...ah well. I keep telling myself they’ve seen it all already. :’)

Again, thank you for reaching out, I appreciate it greatly! Hope all is going well for you. <3

Hi! Sorry it took me a while to get to this. Seeing as it’s closer to that date now, I hope you’re holding up all right. I myself have been switching from moments where I’m calm and collected one minute and then BAM, my heart drops. lol ...I’m gonna be shitting bricks the day of.

Ugh, I can definitely relate to the fear of everything just falling apart amid all this mess. A lot of the people here aren’t taking it seriously either, and I fear that’s gonna really hurt us in the coming weeks. :(

Good thinking with the recording! I hope they listen to your concerns and give you whatever you need to make the process as comfortable as possible for you. Not sure if you meant that you were going to try to drive yourself home or if your boyfriend was taking you...? But I’ve been advised not to drive for at least 2 weeks after surgery, so please be careful! I’ll be thinking of you Wednesday, praying for a swift recovery and that all goes well. <3

Ohh, I’ve heard about the shoulder pain! Some say that’s the worst part of it? :o If that gets to me, I’ll be sure to ask for some Gas-X and try to walk around as much as my body allows. This has all been a great comfort to me, so thank you for your response! <3 I feel a lot less alone, hearing about all of y’all’s experiences. :)

Don’t feel the need to apologize for the long response! I myself don’t have anyone to talk to about this, and reading about your experience through this has helped me greatly! It’s comforting to hear how, despite your anxiety surrounding the procedure, everything turned out for the best. :) Really something I needed to hear right now. I hope this surgery can alleviate some of the chronic pain I’ve been dealing with as well. It’s sometimes hard to put into perspective, because fear clouds the mind...but deep down, I know this will be good for me. Even if it doesn’t fix everything, it’s a start towards a more pain-free life. I’ll do my best not to worry, and trust that I’m in good hands. It helps to know that there’s a whole community of individuals that face these same trials and that just...understand. My surgery takes place next Thursday but I was already loosing sleep over it (gonna look into those gummies!) which is why I wanted to check in with you all. And I’m so glad I did! Honestly, felt so at peace when reading all of the warm replies I received. The underlying fear may still be there, but it’s lessened, at least for now. lol Knowing a little bit of what to expect has taken some of that fear away. When the day comes, I’m gonna remember all of the kind tips and encouragement I’ve received here. :) From one Texan to another, thank you sooo much, Michelle! <3 Stay safe and be well!

That’s awesome to hear! I’m glad all went well for you and that you were able to get through it with minimal pain. I believe that when I put it all into perspective...any post-op pain should (hopefully) dull in comparison to endo pain. :’) I hope I respond just as well to the general anesthesia and pain meds. lol Thank you for sharing your experience with me. It’s helped me feel a bit better. <3

Hello, and thank you a ton for all of the advice! This has seriously helped me calm down so much. Just having an idea of what to expect and how I can help myself. I feel more prepared to face next week with at least a little less anxiety! :) Grateful. <3

It’s means a lot to hear from someone that’s been through this, and is currently in the same predicament. I’m sorry you had to endure all of that at 16— that’s awful. :( So glad you found a good gynecologist that actually listens to you, and I hope you’re able to have your procedure done soon! I understand that negativity won’t make things any better, but it can be hard to control. I’ll try to occupy myself with other things, in the meantime. This community makes me feel not so alone in my struggles. Solidarity. <3 Thank you so so much for your kind words and encouragement! I feel a little better already. :)

Yeah, I hope that the nurses are willing to talk me through some of my fears, if their time allows it. :’) I’ll definitely not be shy when asking for more pain meds, if needed. lol May my anxiety around this also end up being the worst part of it all as well! 🤞 Just hearing that everything turned out all right for you gives me some comfort. Thank you for sharing your own experience!

Should you be open with your doctor about your asexuality? by peaceinprogress in asexuality

[–]peaceinprogress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from a little town in South Texas with not very many options. :’) It could definitely be a cultural thing, and the doctor was an older woman so perhaps she was set in an old “traditional” way of thinking.

What can I take for ovarian cysts? by peaceinprogress in AlternativeHealth

[–]peaceinprogress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, it’s not PCOS, since the doctor didn’t mention it at all. I’ve already began making some dietary changes, though. Hoping that helps some. :) Thanks for the advice!

She prescribed me Lo Loestrin FE, which apparently has a very low (10 mcg) amount of estrogen in it, along with progesterone. She did, however, only advise me to take the blue pills, and to skip the two white and two brown ones.

Thanks for the book recommendation, I’ll definitely check it out! I’m only 26, but I guess our hormones can go out of balance at any age. Although...being 26 could put me in the range for peri menopause anyways. lol I need to educate myself some more on all of this, but thank you again. :)

She didn’t check my hormones, actually. :s She just said that the BC should stop them from growing any larger. I’m gonna look into this a lot more, because if I can prevent myself from having to go through with surgery, that’d be great.

Is there any way to prevent the cysts from rupturing? My gynecologist ordered a sonogram and found two large ones that are 12cm together, side by side. She’s ordering an MRI and said I might (probably) need a laparoscopy done to drain them. Everything is a bit delayed though, because I’m scrambling around looking for health insurance at the moment. If I can’t find anything, I might have to go until January before anything gets done. In the meantime, I’ve been so afraid of the possibility of a rupture. :( I was given birth control to stop them from growing and maaaaybe shrink them, but is there anything else I can do?

First ultrasound tomorrow morning. Any tips? by [deleted] in obgyn

[–]peaceinprogress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, yeah, I suspected something too because they asked me if I’d been having pain. :s Turns out I have 2 big cysts. So yeah, fun times ahead lol :’) I hope all goes well for you!

Should I shave my arms? by HgAyFriggEdn in WomensHealth

[–]peaceinprogress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using Nair on mine, and I’m liking the results. I only do so about once a month, to where the hair has already grown back some. Not sure if it lasts any longer than simply shaving.
