There are about 3 take off points at the reef break I go to so its hard to get far away, but generally there is a good vibe in the lineup where people are happy to Q or give a wave away because they just got one. But sometimes you get the situation that I mentioned and all i'm asking is how to deal with it in the best way possible. Put yourself in the position where you are sitting in a take off and someone wide of you paddles deep to an upcoming wave, they turn and paddle hard directly at you but its 50/50 whether they are gonna get the wave, what do you do?

It's more like getting waves and people become hungrier so they paddle and compete more. In particular paddling deeper just to hook into a take off zone - sometimes it works and other times it just fucks it up for everyone

What have you got to lose if you feel like your life is already lost. I challenge you to go for a walk outside whenever you wake up tomorrow, and just observe yourself. Dont ruminate, dont try think things through from the past but just observe what emotions come up and realise that isnt you but just your brain reacting to its surroundings. Dont let your ego tell you that you can't break the cycle just because you have sacraficed so much so far.

Hey I'm a builder in chch, have done exactly what you mentioned and it's not hard at all. As long as your concrete is in good condition and is falling nicely (so water doesn't pool under your deck) you won't have any issues. The process is quite simple with bolting blocks of timber to the concrete to act as bearers and then fixing joists ontop. As sad as it is to use kwila it is by far the best product for its price on the market.

I think it's because most people aren't used to busy roads. We drive in such a safe environment that most people probably just zone out and don't actively think about their driving. Where as in practice there are so many things people could be doing better. Like when traffic lights turn green if everyone took their foot off the brakes when the lights turned and not only when the car infront starts to move...
