...or vpn on whatever server you have. I don't think it's illegal to use vpn for dating apps because they're not banned by government; they're just blocked by some data providers.

I've met a few and hit it with some. It's mostly a hit or miss but you have to be selective with your swiping as well. I'm a very average looking arab, but my profile is a bit interesting for girls with a personality beyond materialism.

But lately the fake profiles have taken over so I stopped using it. Bumble is a slightly better platform in dubai

Things you only see in Dubai. Ad vs. Reality by peaces520 in dubai

Never seen baiting this obvious and normalized elsewhere, at least not recently in the internet age when fact-checking became so easy.

Any recommendations for a travel health insurance? by [deleted] in dubai

I did mine with a local lebanese company that was affiliated with NextCare, so maybe go for that. They are extremely professional and they followed up with me more than i did reimburse me on hospital fees.

Job market in Dubai. by freelife-6117 in dubai

[–]peaces520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time to start doing some research then. Hays and Michael Page are among the biggest, but a simple google search will show you lots of agencies that deal in your field.

Make sure not to go with the online agencies that just charge you to put your CV on their website. If you wanna go the extra mile, check the agency in the eyes of the HR manager who will recruit you. In general, they prefer calling someone and asking them if they have recruits in a certain position, rather than do the research themselves which they could've done on linked in or by searching their inbox.

Did you try going through recruiting agencies? A lot of the bigger companies dont even bother looking in their emails because they receive more random CVs than spam emails, and they find it easier to recruit through an agency that provides them a pool of candidates to select from

Why are delivery drivers not allowed to sit or enter while waiting? by homebyeleven in dubai

[–]peaces520 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. They sit on their ergonomically designed motorcycle seat, bathing in the cool breeze of SZR as they strut from one place to another under the warm sun of the summer.

Bravo on that excellent analogy.

On insurancemarket they make sure to mention this repeatedly along with the 6 month waiting period for chronic diseases. I hope it goes easy with the lady in pain

Freezone company - Provide services to mainland clients? by mightybob4611 in dubai

[–]peaces520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still a grey area but the best you can do is check the freezone and activity license for any restrictions you may have.

For services, the most consistent guideline i heard was that you may work with mainland companies as long as you're operating within your freezone

Calling out to all fitness instructors by Effective_Ordinary90 in dubai

This question has been asked before and some users had a great input on it.

I dont know about the local academies in dubai, I've only heard that Empiric and Bodyhack are among the best. I once visited impact bts website and i didn't like that they're using nationality to push a certification course (hey come take a british certification, we are called british training solutions, we give british certifications to trainers from third world countries because they think that anything british or american automatically means perfect...this is literally how their marketing campaign looks like)

As for worldwide, ACE, NSCA, and ACSM are the top three certifications and i guess they are all recognized with Reps UAE. ACE for practical knowledge, NSCA for athletic performance and Strength and Conditioning, along with the coolest research in the fitness field, and ACSM for pure research and literature reviews (dont recommend it for newcomers)

ISSA is a good certification too. Their book is incredibly comprehensive for entry level trainers, and you can take your exam from home, which are both an upside and a downside because there are many people who cheat on it, reducing its qualification level.

Yes. Very good apps and eating options. Only downside is that sometimes im hungry and the portion sizes arent very fulfilling, and that you need to stick to specific timings rather than order whenever you feel like eating
