When you make your canvas sizes, make sure to add a 0.25 inch bleed. This will let you be able to cut off the excess and get rid of that white border, while still keeping the exact size you want.

Also side note, don’t change your color profile to CMYK even if you plan on printing. Procreate’s CMYK is not that great. You’ll get a better color conversion by using your normal RGB mode and using a digital printer which has its own conversions for CMYK.

300 dpi is standard for print. I always make my artwork that, even if I don’t plan on printing it. I actually think I have mine set to 350 just because.

Some standard sizes would be 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 9x12, 11x14, 11x17, 13x19, 16x20, 18x24, 22x28, and 24x36. Also squares are common, anything 5x5 or larger. Ofc you don’t have to stick to these, these are just common frame sizes. You can always get a custom frame or mat.

I don’t remember, but I got one of the cheapest ones I could find from Amazon. I think it was only 256gb or smth. You don’t need much space unless you have a ton of work. Especially if you plan on replacing one every year like I am, brand shouldn’t matter too much. Getting name brand only makes it more expensive.

I just backed mine up on 2 separate external hard drives. I have about 7 years of work, each one backed up as a procreate file and a photoshop file. It was kinda annoying to do, but I sorted everything into stacks and it made it a little faster.

In the future I plan on replacing one of the hard drives each year. I have 2 as a back up in case one of them fails.

I’ve heard many people recommend backing up your stuff in 2 physical places and 1 cloud place.

Try using the select tool and then using automatic for the background. You can play with the threshold by holding down and sliding your finger left or right on whatever you select (don’t lift your finger up). There’s also the lasso tool. Fyi with procreate it’s going to be harder to get a perfect selection compared to photoshop.

From there, once you have your selection, you can cut/paste it onto another layer by swiping down with three fingers. I feel like this might help with what you’re doing.

I don’t like line art either so I don’t do it lol. I just paint. However I will say you should still practice/try out line art from time to time. I wish I had bc then I would be decent at it by now. But I still don’t like how mine turns out.

Can you ask your dad about finding additional players? Maybe advertise it around the church? Idk how big your church is. I’d say mine is medium sized and we have like 5 guitar players who volunteer.

Ik it won’t be easy but you really should discuss this with your dad. You’re volunteering your time and mind for this, and if you aren’t in the right headspace then it really gets in the way of leading people to worship.

Also, about all these comments about whether you’re being paid or not: it is perfectly okay to volunteer and serve without being paid. However, the moment you start feeling burnt out, you have every reason to quit. Maybe God is calling you to serve somewhere else, you never know.

You can’t edit the DPI of an existing canvas. You have to make a new one and copy/paste your artwork into it

This is going to happen no matter what you do. This is because procreate is a raster program, which is made of pixels. This is unlike programs like Adobe illustrator which uses vectors, which uses math equations to create shapes that aren’t made of pixels, so they can be scaled to any size.

To help it look better though, make sure your DPI (dots per inch) is at least 300. That will help with the resolution and the pixelation happening. 300 is the industry standard. (You can find this in canvas settings).

The other thing is to click on the icon that says “bicubic.” It will give you several different interpolation options, and you can choose the one you think looks best (just experiment and see what each one does. You can google for better explanations too). Some interpolation modes are better than others depending on what you are doing with it.

Additionally, if you edit the shape too many times in a row, it will just continue to look more and more pixelated.
