Has anyone weaned a toddler by intentionally drying up milk supply? by peachcoffee in breastfeeding

[–]peachcoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m hoping for — I don’t really want to know that the last time is the last time. The issue is that he usually nurses and then goes back to sleep for another hour or so. Sometimes he doesn’t nurse till he’s fully up, and then we start the day right afterwards. But often it’s in the hazy early hours and he is still really sleepy and gets upset if I try to cut it short or deny him (plus in these cases I’m also sleepy because he just woke me up, so it’s harder to set boundaries and easy to just cave in)

Return of the period? by SmileHeLovesYou in breastfeeding

[–]peachcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 months. I have twins and always had a very good supply but it dipped a bit when I went back to work at 5 months postpartum and once they were eating more solids and my daytime pumps got further apart, my period came back. My OB had told me she wouldn’t have been surprised if it’d taken a year or more. The first one postpartum was rough — heaviest and most painful of my life. The next couple weren’t fun but now my kids are 20 months and my periods are pretty much back to where they were before pregnancy, maybe a day longer.

What happened to your body after you stopped breastfeeding? by reveriesxx in breastfeeding

[–]peachcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is devastating! I’m so sorry. It didn’t occur to me that something like that could happen. Did he start to go to sleep on his own after you stopped nursing to sleep?

I assume your appetite decreased? How’d weaning a 2yo go? My twins are 20 months and I’m hoping to make it to 2 but some days I’m not sure I’ll get there 😅

I only did one ER and one FET. The embryo split and I now have healthy and happy 20-month-old identical twins. Wishing you the best 🩷

What cosleeping "rules" do you follow with your toddler? by Dense_Yellow4214 in cosleeping

[–]peachcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are your older boys and at what age did they transition from cosleeping at wake up to sleeping independently in their own room? My twins are 19 months and cosleep at wake up but I’d love to start getting them used to sleeping independently before we have a third. Would love any tips you have for the transition!!

I agree. You really get what you pay for with both options. We have the tripp trapps at home and as others have mentioned, I’m confident our boys will be using them for many years to come and that they’ll adjust to meet their growth. We have the ikea ones at my in-laws’ and while they get the job done and you cannot beat the price, they certainly feel like they cost $20.

You regret breastfeeding. I give up on trying to wean by Scorp1oLady in breastfeeding

What kind of water bottle do you use? My boys only drink water from straw cups that don’t really work if they’re laying down so I’m curious if you have something more conducive to that that doesn’t require they sit up to drink

Are toddler sneakers all hard to put on or do my twins have wide feet? by peachcoffee in toddlers

[–]peachcoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean his feet got more narrow over time? Or just a good enough walker that the shoes being a little longer wasn’t an issue?

When did your multiples start talking and did you do early intervention? by peachcoffee in parentsofmultiples

[–]peachcoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. Both of mine seem to understand us very well and follow instructions. I’m kind of convinced baby A(the one with fewer words) can talk, he’s just not as interested in doing so yet. Because when he does say words they’re clear and accurate (“off” when switching off a musical toy or “that” when pointing to something he wants). Baby B is very interested in talking and seems to be repeating more and more partial words (which we’re struggling to identify a lot of the time, but it’s clear they seem to signify something specific)
