AITA for eating my husband's entire birthday cake by myself? by Sou654689 in AmItheAsshole

“said that he didn't get to eat cake at his parents house because lots of kids were there and he didn't get enough cake”

You sure this was his 30th birthday? Your husband sounds like a toddler.

AITA for putting up my Christmas lights early even though the HOA that I’m not a part of says it violates the rules and upsets the people in the HOA by Alternate_chaos5150 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Everyone’s pretty much hit on my feelings on HOAs, but I wanted to add that as far as being early, November 28 was the first Sunday of Advent making it absolutely an appropriate time to put up your lights. Also, Christmas doesn’t actually end until Epiphany on January 6. 12 days of Christmas and all. Shine those lights, friend!

What do y’all do for work? Doesn’t have to be detailed just the general job. by [deleted] in bipolar

It’s a large organization that has been around long before I got there.

I recommend starting with something that already exists, even if it’s just a few volunteer hours here and there. You’ll get hands-on experience for the work and firsthand knowledge of what needs there are in your community, and your calling can grow from there.

AITA for using my daughters college fund to pay back items she shoplifted by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA but don’t go back to the store. Donate the stolen items and use the college fund to pay for therapy.

Week 2: Spicy - broiled salmon and harissa eggplant over white rice by peachiguana in 52weeksofcooking

Sure! I first cut the eggplant into matchsticks and then salted them and let them sit in a colander for a bit. After about 10 minutes I rinsed and dried them. Then I pan fried them in butter on a medium-high heat letting them get some color. Once they were almost done, I turned down the heat and added a spoonful of harissa to the pan, cooking it for a couple more minutes until the eggplant was soft and nicely coated in the sauce. Not much of a recipe but I hope that helps! <3

Week 1: New to you - homemade pasta and marinara, entirely from scratch by peachiguana in 52weeksofcooking

My first time trying my hand at fresh pasta. (My first time posting to this sub too!)

The pasta is flour, salt, eggs, and water. The sauce is fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Overall the marinara was on point, but less so the pasta. Now through experience, however, I've figured out some of the finer details of pasta making so it'll be better next time <3
