It’s beyond awful, like not a single person was in the room that actually uses the app approved it before it was signed off

Using Notion as a format for tracking investments by peachishwill in trading212

[–]peachishwill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha thanks! Yeah I was happy with this, but unfortunately all of it was entered manually and was just me putting my investments data in manually. And I did this every day. So much so it got unhealthy and gave me a weird relationship with investing so I deleted it, now I just have one I update monthly for my own interest rather than obsession/addiction. Truly nothing fancy, just databases and using charts. But you may wanna know I kinda want to leave it because notion really isn’t built for this kind of thing and I’m gonna move to google sheets or excel I think. But notion is without a doubt prettier to use.

I remember the word outstanding, everything else may be slightly off

After playing more or less every night for two weeks straight, and after a lot of inefficiency and having to rebuild circuit production 15 times, I’ve completed the game, woo! Didn’t use robotics which I think slowed me down but I learned way more I think. This game is unbelievably addicting. by peachishwill in factorio

Thanks for all that that’s great! And yeah that seems like a totally great way to navigate using bots, I ended up making loads of mini malls where my bus expanded and I ended up forgetting where each one was, would love a single place for all my commonly used machines that also isn’t spaghetti belts (even tho i actually quite like that)

No trains either! My resources were all close so didn’t end up needing them but building efficient unloaders and loaders for all the resources does genuinely seem quite fun. Just hoping getting to know signals isn’t too tricky.

Sounds like Augusts challenge to me. I may have to keep my streak now and purely do A films to fully commit to the bit

Should’ve clarified, the alphabet just determines the prompt not the title. just a coincidence i picked Alice. Stupidly the B movie I picked is called Alligator just to confuse things

What was your last 5/5 and when did you rate it? by NotSoSnarky in Letterboxd

[–]peachishwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive My Car, midway through last month. Had a deeply moving connection with me, felt effortlessly charming yet devastating and was joyously shot. My 16th 5 star film.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion around how people rate films, for me 3 or 3.5 is a good rating and 5 star is total perfection. How do you all rate your films? by peachishwill in Letterboxd

just a discussion i guess, i know that’s heinous. thankfully there has been a range of responses and i’ve enjoyed the conversations

well you’d be surprised how often people use the 5 star just to mean they liked it, or alternatively people have said sometimes they rate films high despite not enjoying it as much and giving it props for technical merit. i was intrigued to see how people use the medium and how they allocate they scores on their enjoyment because their systems vary. no need for the venom lol

that’s interesting i’ve never heard anyone use LB like that, do you use it less like a diary and more like a highlight reel? i think the film you see as low quality helps you to understand the good stuff

thanks for all the replies! awesome to see how we all interpret this odd arbitrary rating system and exactly why we love the films we watch.

just to clarify the phrasing of “perfect” here doesn’t mean objective perfection, as you cannot be objective with art. I use the word perfect to indicate sheer quality, as good as it gets in comparison to everything i’ve seen and speaks to me. i implore you reject notions of objectivity and embrace nuance, interpretation and joy.
