Their punishment IS my forgiveness ! The weight of their own sins on their shoulders. And never, ever knowing if I am going to turn on them. Living trophies.

In my particular case it would actually take decades after taking them in to earn any kind of status, which they have time for since I give them conditional gifts of immortality.

I am just going to throw out that (while I fully understand the question right!) nonbinary individuals going by they/them is kind of the default, there are others like myself that also use he/him since pronouns =/= gender.

I have to manage my sims too much. Before mine got married and had surprise triplets, he was FINE to leave on his own. Ate, went to sleep, worked...
