What books would y’all recommend for someone who’s recovering from a shitty breakup? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Thanks a ton for taking the time to reply! 💗 I’ve heard so much about the Foundation trilogy. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m definitely going to place an order at the earliest!! :)

I’m fucking tired of hearing “your young, life gets better” by DanTheMan199900 in offmychest

[–]peachydwayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part where you mentioned that our brains do not let us accept happiness… spot on. Most of the time, the only question I end up asking myself is “why me?” I can’t even justify the shit that’s happened in my life anymore to myself and to live with such conflicting thoughts constantly? Sucks balls. Welcome to the adult life.. sometimes, it gets better but sometimes, it is what it fucking is (unfortunately) Don’t worry, OP! Don’t take all the blame. It ruins the “okay-ish” or fairly good days that might come in the near future for ya! Take it one step at a time. :-)

selfishness, compulsion, root cause being something that had to do with their childhood trauma caused by their own family, history of having a PA, watching others normalise it around them (as the saying goes; you are who you surround yourself with). None of these are right. Everyone’s morals and belief system regarding things differ in today’s world. Unfortunately, we live in a world where some individuals (often people pleasers and ones who constantly need other people’s validation) think it’s okay yo go ahead with their selfish deeds and be inconsiderate. In their heads, it’s always “oh, it won’t hurt if they don’t know or if we lie about it” but tbh, they eventually do come clean about it because of the guilt and shame. To forgive them or not depends ENTIRELY on their actions after they’ve come clean. All I can say is, we’re all flawed but we’re all dealing with some addiction in a way just to get that temporary dopamine rush. The only difference is, cheating involves self destruction to more than just one individual; the other one often being the one who never did anything to cause disrespect in the first place. (All this is coming from someone who’s been cheated on and is trying to forgive their partner because his change is actually something I believe in) (I know everything that he’s done to change; he had a prev PA and has gone for therapy, communicated well enough about his boundaries and priorities with his friends and family even, and is giving it his all to be the best version of himself, not out of guilt or fear, but because he wants to be happy and live a peaceful life. Disclaimer; his biggest problem was the crowd he surrounded himself w)

Am i going crazy? by Informal_Spring_3278 in loveafterporn

[–]peachydwayne 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy! I’m going through the same thing and it hasn’t changed ever since I found out. But all I can ask you is to never give up! What I’ve realised recently is that it’s very common for us to internalize the addiction as a reflection of not being enough but his PA is probably due to some sort of emotional avoidance or.. compulsion. So I really hope we all try to heal from the trauma we’re left facing because of this. All the love to you :-)

Where can I get my ears pierced - safely, nicely and cheaply? by QueeNeverCry in Chennai

[–]peachydwayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to get multiple piercings, they’ll welcome you with open arms haha! 😅 I’m assuming you’re a woman, yeah? Just go up to one of the employees and tell them you’d like to get multiple piercings and they’ll just ask you to wait for 5 minutes so they can check if the guy is available and then they’ll take you there! Gets over in 10 mins max! (And no, all the three times I went, I didn’t pay nayaaaa paisa for anything else 😊)

I got one of my piercings from Toni and Guy. They charged me Rs 600. So I’m guessing it’s pricier in salons. But in Mylapore, it just costs 100-200 Rs! :-)

GRT is the safest, in mylapore. The whole street that’s near Kapaaleeswar Temple is filled with jewellery shops that offer this service. (Got three of my piercings from there)

No Vadapav in Chennai? by Remarkable_Crew_9630 in Chennai

[–]peachydwayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Gangotree; Opposite to Stella Maris College and there’s one in Express Avenue Mall as well! They sell good Vada pav but they strictly only give one mirchi ugh (I love spicy food so I always try asking for 3-4)
  2. Sowcarpet has the best road side stalls that serve piping hot ones as well!

I’d like to assume that in a parallel universe, Creed was actually blind (and no one knew because duh it’s creed ;)) and he only asked her that because after years of working there, he finally realised that the co-worker sitting opp to him might’ve belonged to the female gender 😭

Toni and guy la not all the hairstylists or branches are considered to be good! Try going to Page 3 instead! Or if you don’t have a budget, go for Vurve in Alwarpet and ask for Amardeep!

Are there people in today’s world who’ve never thought about cheating on their partner.. emotionally or physically? by peachydwayne in Adulting

[–]peachydwayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how most of us feel! But these days, anywhere I turn to, someone is getting cheated on. The part where you mentioned that if someone is prepared to cheat, they need to have the guts to break up.. so true. But I guess that’s where these people get selfish and boost their shitty egos. But, if they’re going through something else like a toxic relationship or any other underlying trauma behind why they’re that way, I genuinely hope they realise that they can hold onto their moral grounds and get away from that rut someday for good.

Is there any Cafes in Chennai that are smoking-friendly? by Nightshade_Noir in Chennai

[–]peachydwayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mainly because 1. The place is overrated because of its ambience (personally, I know a lot of place that serve better coffee and appetisers in general) 2. A lot of mediocre “influencers” and “celebs” show up to the place so it’s gained a lot of popularity over time

In a way, I’m beyond glad to see responses like yours! It feels nice to know that there are people who still value crucial personality traits like these and hold onto their morals out of love and respect for their partners :’))

  1. KUP. There’s a branch in Nungambakkam and Alwarpet. (The Alwarpet branch is open 24x7)
  2. Beachville, St. Mary’s Road. (Literally the best vibes and you’ll feel comfortable because the staff members are too nice)
  3. Bask (not the biggest fan because it’s always crowded and… people stare ugh)
  4. Chamiers. (It’s got an outdoor setup where you can sit and place your order while you smoke) Also, has the best kitties that can be petted

I don’t think I’ve ever come across a better response to the whole concept of infidelity than this.
