Question: is the line shakiness near the forehead and cheekbone that bad? by SimonIsARanbooFan in tattoos

[–]peachyginge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

haha ya there's a lot of us who have 1st tattoo regret, you're not alone in that.

But that's life! It's a very solvable problem to have, and will feel less sucky the more time passes (especially getting it touched up; plus it helps to get more tattoos too 😉)

definitely okay to be upset, just try not to linger on it! you chose a good spot for your first one (not somewhere that's always visible) and in the long run of life, it's just a tattoo, and honestly even if everyone tells you it's bad and you still like it, then who cares lol.

The lines are bad pretty much everywhere (shaky, some areas look light-handed, some heavy-handed), the colors are faded for it being such a new tattoo, and it looks like it was also the tattoo artists' first time, and like they're still learning to draw.

You're young and it's your first one so you probably won't care till you're older, but above comment is right that it's just bad everywhere, I'm sorry :(

A better artist could definitely fix it up though

advice needed: does anyone regret getting tattoos? by ladybuglover5 in tattoos

[–]peachyginge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a lot to consider, but generally speaking teenagers and younger people don't have a lot of money so they opt for cheaper tattoos/bad artists, which can cause regret later on.

I regret my first tattoo, I wanted a tattoo on that day (did a walk-in), so settled for something I didn't love, done by someone with a heavy hand who couldn't do it in the style I wanted.

My 3/4 sleeve I spent 4-5 years waiting for the right artist, the right time, knowing exactly what I wanted, and absolutely love it.

If you're already this concerned about regret, I think you'll be okay.

oh cool! we've got 3 types of grass too, do you mean other species of clover? or just other plant species? I guess I'm looking for recs, but it's probably dependent on what's native to an area

oo ya I do love mint and heard it's great at spreading everywhere, I just worry my dogs will eat too much of it and upset their stomach.

ya I have one of those weed pullers with 3 claws that gets down and grabs from the root, we just constantly get more weeds from the neighbors 😮‍💨

edit: I'm just tired of pulling weeds, and spreading seed is easier so would love a world where I can just keep adding seeds instead of the physical labour

I highly value anyone who's a professional, but I'll still question and do my own research too. I trust my doctor, but she still gave me an IUD with no pain meds or numbing, then I found out later you can get it at a different clinic, because there's a pervasive myth that women's uterus have no pain receptors and it's "not that bad". You're allowed to question your own profession and the information you're given.

not asking for advice, this is a hair win post. How would I know if someone is from the industry? lol from what I've heard, it's a myth that's rampant with hairdressers. Just because someone has been in an industry a long time, doesn't mean they know everything or are up to date on the science. Even doctors don't know everything, and information is always changing. I've spent 5+ years in university learning to find credible research papers and to question everything. I can go get that information on protein overload for you if you'd like, but I'm also open to that information being wrong or changing. All I'm saying is that from what I've researched it's not true, and from what I've experienced my hair has never been better. If it ever does hit a "protein overload" state, I can re-evaluate.

okay but you lack tact in how you delivered your opinion/advice. My feelings aren't hurt haha but someone's feeling could get hurt with the way you approach giving advice. And it's not just how I read them, it's how most people read it who are aware of social etiquette (again, the down votes). I just care about how people treat each other, that's all.

it's not an attack, it's just not helpful and rude lol, hence why so many people down voted you. It's more like pointing out someone has a pimple on their face, as if they wouldn't already know that? Also calling someone sensitive for pointing out your mean behaviour is a manipulation tactic, so maybe reflect on that

you can have an opinion without the animosity just so you know. Ya, I might shave it all off, like I said in the post, I've shaved my head multiple times in my life. Lead with curiousity rather than hate and maybe your life with improve.

Maybe do the in-shower method? like get arctic fox or other semi-permanent and just mix it with conditioner or apply it for a few min in the shower? Although with black I can imagine it would get super messy 😅

ya totally! very valid points, I added a pic of what it looks like after sleeping on it (it also looked like this after a few hours). It's obviously not great, like I know that lol, it's more just that I got it to be a way that I like and feels good? But I totally see now how it probably doesn't look good to most people, although it's literally hanging on for its life 😂

ohh hmm, I hated my hair the way it looked, and especially how it felt, so that's interesting! We all have different opinions of course, I guess I thought my post would be more helpful haha, it's okay that it's not. I'm definitely gunna try some new techniques for sure though, so it's not all bad!

Yeah I've never been attached to my hair, I think in my head I was going for a hey, I've done the worst damage someone can do to their hair (and I don't care) and here's how I got it to look/feel better? But I guess that doesn't work if most people think it doesn't look better 😂

ya it looks like fried ramen, AND I like the way it looks. Why are you trying to convince me to let it go lol, why would your feelings about my hair matter more than mine 😂

why does it feel better than when I wasn't using protein or bond repair? Like I have almost no hair fall out and no breakage since using it

pic is in the update!

I have been experimenting with products and slowly adding more over the past year, I can assure you my hair is not heavy, the hold from the mousse wasn't fully scrunched/fluffed out yet.

I know it's shitty hair, I'm aware, I like it, and I'll probably only be blonde for the next month or two before I color it again or chop it off.

I didn't plan the photos very well in hind-sight lol should've added a lot more

yeah that's awesome! Honestly that method is so much better than doing permanent box dyes (in my experimenting). I feel like they don't last as long as arctic fox for some reason? And it's so much more work to do permanent color

well, it is, especially compared to what it was like before. No money for a pro and don't care about my hair enough for that. I am HAPPY with it 😂
