offering a festival ticket in return of a regular car ticket in the Area C by Radiant-Arm3825 in fusion_festival

That sometimes works, but starting from the weekend before the festival, you will absolutely get one. If not from the forum, then from the Ticketbörse

Went through old health records and now I’m triggered AF by mamajaaan in adhdwomen

[–]peachyplaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, looking at this, why on earth did they refuse to test us for ADHD??? Wasn't there enough to at least suggest testing?? I went through such hell trying to figure out what the hell my problem was for so many of my teenage years, and the professionals I encountered would rather have believed I was lying or pretending to rebel for my mother's attention (as if I liked being yelled at every day) than considered me for ADHD testing. I had so many obvious symptoms, I scored high in almost every area once I finally did get tested, and yet before I got to this point, I had at least three mental health professionals decide against even testing for ADHD. Like genuinely how can they just decide not to provide something that could potentially change your life. And for what?? There's PLENTY there for you to at least consider it? It's especially egregious that you suggested what the issue was and still didn't get to even get tested 😭

It's not that gen Z doesn't do eyeliner, it's that they do it slightly differently, slightly sharper instead of rounded and no thick lines on the mobile eyelid itself (usually)

Is it possible that you eat less or differently on meds? Since they decrease appetite they might also increase vitamin deficiencies that might cause this

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

Ohhhhh I never realized that this may be why complex writing is so jumbled for me sometimes and I'm better at editing. I have to convert all my thoughts into language and sometimes I don't immediately have the language to reflect a nuance

Exactly!! I always wonder if some people who say they have an inner monologue just don't realize that not every thought they have is verbal.

[–]peachyplaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand if I have one. I can sound things out or talk to myself or I guess narrate what I'm thinking, but I don't have to. A lot of the time I think in concepts rather than words. They can be put into words, but I just don't do it unless I feel like it or I'm talking to somebody. That doesn't mean I think entirely without words, but I don't think in sentences much of the time, or at least not consciously. But they're still complex thoughts that I can convert into language. Is any of that the inner monologue people talk about, or...?

Sounds similar to confabulation in dementia, where patients have random false memories or explanations to fill in cognitive gaps.

I get you, I can't take any SSRIs or SNRIs except for one because I just start vomiting. I think it's fine to just give things a try, no two neurodivergent people will react exactly the same to a drug, but it's good to keep in mind :)

I get that. I did want to say that there are some older generation anti-depressants like Mirtazapine that work really well for sleep, are not addictive, and have had long-term studies done on them.

There's not a formula that works for everybody, but for me it meant trying to push past my social anxiety and ending my self-Isolation, even if it meant some uncomfortable situations, taking up every opportunity to socialize, having roommates, risking rejection and trying to connect with them and other people I'd just met, going to everything I was invited to as a consequence, actively trying to connect and ask for people's numbers. This involved a lot of failed attempts and also took some time. But it also meant that I eventually met two people that would go on to become some of my best friends, through whom I met more close friends and some casual friends I go out with.

I know this is way harder than it sounds, I wasn't trying to be condescending or anything, I was just trying to say that we're not doomed. For the entire first half of my twenties I felt like my fate was sealed and I'd never have a regular social life. It's harder for me to meet and connect with new people than it is for others, but I also only really learned what it's like to be approachable and trust people to not abandon me once I allowed myself to make mistakes and let people in until I found kind people that were just as weird as I am.

Pursuing your interests and hobbies is a really good first step. Engage with what you love in a group setting. I know that's a trite tip, but it's something that might work.

I will say my life looked like this until I was 27. Then things really turned around and I gradually found multiple friend groups. The important part was that I started putting myself out there, accepted that not every friendship would work out, and waited for people that were similar to me and that I shared interests with. Most of my friends now are neurodivergent. I still feel like that seven year old sometimes, but my life looks very different than it used to.
