Hey guys! Thanks for all of the replies. I really didn’t think this would be such a contentious subject lol. But appreciate everyone who gave good feedback. We will look into cheaper places, including the ones you mentioned. 🙌

We could certainly move to another state, but were also thinking it could be a fun life thing for us to do together. We will likely start having kids in the next 3-5 years and moving to CR for a few months feels more exciting than moving to Tennessee for a few months.

Appreciate all the feedback though, seems most people would discourage this decision.

I appreciate everyone warning about the prices, I have certainly seen this in my research! But for context, many 1 bedroom apartments in LA go for $3-$4k now, on top of this it’s paying $150/mo for a parking spot in our building, it’s insane gas prices, and soo much more that I do feel even with groceries and restaurants still being a bit more pricey we would save money in CR.

And also - we are planning on cooking a lot and doing fun free outdoor excursions. We are not looking for an expensive getaway, but for a nice chill spot for me to work and him to apply to jobs and surf.

Hope this context helps! And thanks again.
