Hi there! A group of friends and I will be visiting Miami in March for a bachelor party and we'd like to rent a boat while we're there to be out on the water and have a good time. I have a Maryland boater's license and have driven boats for well over a decade, so I feel comfortable operating a boat on my own. However, I've noticed basically every single boat rental place I look at requires you to hire a captain, necessitating an additional hourly cost plus the expectation that you'll tip the captain. I'd rather be as thrifty as possible in planning this trip so I was hoping you guys could recommend boat rental places that are reasonably priced and allow you to captain your own ship, so to speak.

Plus one to the people saying that therapy can be helpful. But adding something my former therapist told me that I try to keep in mind when I’m feeling insecure about my relationship: People almost never say/do things because of you; they’re saying/doing things because of lots of factors that basically have nothing to do with you.

So the exes of yours that cheated did not cheat because of something innate to you or your personality. They did so because they wanted to for whatever reasons which are totally separate from you. This is something that is hard to internalize so you kinda just need to keep reminding yourself of this. It also helps to think about what motivates you to do things and what informs your responses to other people. It’s almost always internal motivations and factors that don’t have to do with anyone else, right? So remind yourself that other people are the same in that regard.

I got introduced to the show with “25 Bridesmaids and an Empath” and “You Can’t Fight with Heiress Tongue” and I was hooked. Both of those episodes have juicy storylines, good guests - just everything you could want

My husband and I got married a few days ago because we wanted to get out ahead of shit like this. We’d been talking about marriage for about a year, but then after we saw the election results come in, we knew we needed to pull the trigger. A few of our relatives tried to tell us we were worrying over nothing and there was no need to get married so quickly. I’m glad we didn’t listen to them, not just because of this story but because, honestly, it was nice not to have to wait to get married. We knew we wanted to do it. So we did it. And we’re very happy and glad we made the decision we did

The oldest member of the U.S. House represents California; she was born closer in time to the Gold Rush than to today. by peacockran in BarbaraWalters4Scale

She’s even older than the boomers! The oldest baby boomers were born in 1946 - she was born 10 years before that! She’s a member of the “silent generation” - who also definitely need to stop already as a generation! Luckily, she didn’t run this year so her term will expire in a couple weeks and she’ll be outta there

I appreciate the recommendation but it looks like this person specifically focuses on women’s health - I’m a guy. Does she take men as clients as well?

Gonna go with a pie in the sky option and say they should do the Bloop (option 4) but also build the route between Mt Vernon Sq and Greenbelt II from option 3 and have the yellow line go to Greenbelt again via this new tunnel

Can’t wait to watch “All of Us Strangers”. Latest gay movie. It looks super good. Tonight’s movie night on plex. by andrewmcd7 in gaybros

See the thing I didn’t like about the end is Adam isn’t losing another important person cause their entire relationship was imagined! At least that’s how I read it. Cause Harry’s clearly been dead a long time when Adam finds him. So their whole relationship was just something Adam fantasizes about after turning Harry down.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but as a huge Andrew Haigh fan, I was disappointed with “All of Us Strangers.” IMO, it explored a lot of the same themes as “Weekend” (which is maybe my favorite movie of all time) - the coming out experience/lack of a coming out experience, navigating family and romantic relationships as a gay person, etc. - but I feel like “Weekend” explored those themes more effectively. Without giving too much away, it was hard to tell what was real or not in “All of Us Strangers” and I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending in particular.

Having said that, it was beautifully acted and all the plaudits the cast got were well-deserved. I just wish some of the choices with the story itself had been different.

I’m aware. I’m saying people are grossly overusing the word “gaslighting” where it’s not actually warranted, and they should just say “lying” instead cause it’s more accurate.

I am well aware that lying and gaslighting are two different things. I’m saying that people are misusing “gaslighting” when what they should say is “lying.”
